E-mail updates from MS

A while back I provided MS with my e-mail address with the idea that they would be providing periodic updates regarding DVC. I received confirmation that they received my address but have never received any e-mails from them. Did MS follow through with this service?

other than the survey I don't think anyone has received anything.

I have received two unsolicited e-mails from MS in the last month. One said we would be receiving future e-mails. The other was general information.
