I just recieved two computer games in the mail that I bought off of E-bay. Both of the cases were damaged. One, was completely cracked through, and as soon as I opened it, pieces of the case went everywhere. And the other, while not as bad, the whole front comes off.

I went back to read the item(s) description(s,) (they were two seperate auctions, but from the same seller,) and neither says either of the cases are cracked, or damaged in anyway.

It seems like the discs themselves are loading all right, and are not damaged, but it's frustrating that the cases are damaged, and, (especially the one,) are unuseable.

I think I have to contact the seller about this, which I'll do before leaving feedback. What should I say?

I'd say exactly what you just told us. See what they offer to do. If they sell a lot of games, then they should offer to replace the cases.

I got a CD like that once... it's frustrating!

I buy and sell on ebay alot and it could also be a postal problem. Did you purchase insurance? If you did I would say you definnitely have a claim. Of course the seller could have packaged them better and may offer you something but if you purchased insurance you could possibly get your total purchase price back because of the damage.

Honestly, as long as the games were working properly I would let it go.

If the games are fine, I don't really see where you have a complaint. Think karma.

The games are okay, but I like to keep them in their original cases, which now I can't do. They weren't packaged very well at all, it was just the two of them in an envelope. Insurance wasn't offered.

I know it's not the biggest deal in the world, but the shipping cost was higher then the cost of the game, and I fell like no care was taken in the shipping what-so-ever.

I sent the seller a message this morning, explaining the cases were broken. I haven't recieved a reply yet, but will wait another day, and then send him another message if I don't recieve a reply by then. If I don't get a response by this weekend, (today's Tuesday, so that gives him almost a week to respond,) I don't know what I'll do.

Whenever I sell something on ebay I always say in the listing that I package items with great care and I am not responsible for damage incurred during shipping.
At first I was going to say it isn't the seller's fault if the cases were damaged in the mail, but now that I read your second post, I have changed my mind. It sounds like the seller didn't package the items correctly so I think he is responsible for the damage. The games should have been shipped in a padded mailer, not a plain envelope. I hate when seller's overcharge for shipping. Sorry you got cheated on shipping.
When you leave him feedback, mention that the items were not packaged properly.
