Please could you let me know what software you use to create the special effects with your pics. Thanks Dee

I don't use any software for special effects. I use Photoshop CS but only to crop and adjust levels with the ocassional colour correction. I don't even sharpen my pictures.

Dznefreek is the king of special effects. I have no talent nor patience in that.

Thanks Kelly!

I use;
Elements 2.0 for panoramas
Arcsoft photostudio for collages of 2 pix merged into 1.
Picasa for Multi pic collages
Photoshop for selective coloring, healing, cloning and layering.
Paint Shop Pro X for color and sharpness, cropping, and adjustments.

I LOVE experimenting with my pictures and trying different effects. I am an amateur photographer in the most extreme sense of the word.

Wow, Dznefreek! You work with quite a few programs. How big is your computer? Ours is starting to show it's age, imho, (going on 4 yrs old this July) and I am not sure it can process all of these newer programs in a timely manner.

I guess I have found the next thing I need to work on DH about. ;)

40 Gig
512 Mb Memory

I burn pix to a cd I do not store them all on my computer.

Oh yeah, MS Picture It! just for fun. . . .

Does windows XP have MS picture it?

I have it on my computer at work but I don't think it's on my new one.

Also, with the collages, how do you do that with Picasa? I have that program as well. I would love to make a picture with like 9 other pictures.

bummer...ok

With Paint shop, is there any way to reduce a photo to so many pixels or give me pixel ranges to choose from?

Collage with Picasa

Start Picasa
Import the pix you want to use
Hightlight the pix you want so they appear in the picture tray (lower lh corner)
Click create
Click Picture Collage
Click Type
Choose Picture Grid
Choose location to save to
Choose Create
Save your work

Thanks so much. I'll definately be trying this!

Can you keep one grid open to type in?

Can you move the photos around as well?

You need to throw in an extra pic and then edit it. I believe that is what I did for this.

Put the pix in the tray in the order you want them to appear.

Got it...Thanks. I just tried it and noticed that if I click on the pictures in the grid, they switch around. I just had to do it a dozen times to get it in the order I wanted it.

It would be much easier to put them in the tray that way...

Thanks for your help!!!

Thanks guys i will be taking DH and his credit card out this week!!!!

Just so you know, I found Paint Shop Pro very cheap on Amazon.com.

It was $87 but then has $50 in rebates, making it $37 (the one coupon is good till the 15th so you'd have to order soon).

In the stores, the cheapest price I found was $129.00.

I haven't made a good one up yet. Just been playing around. Once I take some pictures on my new camera, I wanted to try and create one. Most of my other photos are in my scrapbook so I don't have much right now to use.
