So I'm imagining that its the only vacuum that I ever owned that lasted for more than 2 years?

add us to the many who have bought just about every brand of vacuum available over 30 years of marriage.....until we bought a dyson.
our original dyson is about 10 years old, and our 2nd about 8 (the thought of being without a dyson struck such terror in our hearts, we have one for each level

the only reduction in suction since day one is when a sneaky sock or such gets eaten....and easy-peasy: pop a piece off, remove offending item, replace and dyson is working just like NEW

when DS and his GF moved into an apartment 2 years ago, they bought a bissell, then a hoover, and wound up sweeping the carpet with a broom.....the lightbulb finally went off, and they requested a dyson for Christmas.
there are items i have spent a lot on that i wouldn't recommend, but dyson leads the list of items we would highly recommend!
btw, we did research (using "real people", as we take CReports with a grain of salt after too many bad buys, and lots of money wasted, based on their "good" recommendations

we don't work for, or own stock in dyson - we're just thrilled to find that there is one brand in all the thousands/millions we have bought that actually lived up to its promises
