dying easter eggs - neat trick!

Thanks. I am going to try this.

I did try a new trick for making the hard boiled eggs. You put 12 eggs into a 12 cup muffin tin and bake in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes. They came out perfectly and were so easy to peel.

I like this. Thanks OP.

Another technique I've used that was pretty easy was to make tie-dyed eggs using food coloring, paper towels, and aluminum foil. You just lay out a piece of alum foil, put a few layers of paper towel on top of that, squeeze a few drops of food coloring onto the paper towel (use more than one color if you want the tie-dyed effect), place boiled egg in the center of the paper towel and wrap the whole thing snugly around the egg. It's been awhile since I've done this but, as I recall, I only had to leave the egg in the wrap for a couple of minutes to do the trick. Just be careful handling the egg when you take it out cause it will still be wet.

I saw this idea on Pinterest a couple of weeks ago and it's how we're going to do our eggs this year. I did buy a pack of latex gloves. Kool-aid stains big time and I didn't want to walk around with it all over my fingers lol

Very cool thanks for sharing... I am definatly going to try the oven trick for cooking the eggs. I can never do it right on the stove top.

Just tried this. We have our own hens, and fresh eggs are so hard to peel, but they were a breeze after making them this way. Thank you!

Do you put water in the muffin tins?

no. You can just put them in the tins. Or you can just lay them directly on the oven racks too. The tin is just to keep them from moving around.

We used kool-aid this year and it was super easy to do and clean up was very quick. Only a couple of stained fingertips. ;)
