Yes- It's me again- another dining plan question- too much time on my hands this week with spring break;)

I think we're planning on DxDP. I know we get an app, entree, bev and dessert.

Looking over menu's trying to make sure we're good on DxDP over DDP I have the following questions or things to confirm/deny from some dining plan veterns:

1. Ca Grille: The menu read flatbreads, sushi, first course, main course and dessert. How does this play out with the DXDP? Is an app considered an order from the flatbread, sushi or first course, entree from entree and dessert from dessert sections? :confused3

2. Le Cellier: Am I correct in saying that if we wanted an item from the sides and sauces section, this would be an OOP item?

Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

I can answer question 1.

At Cali Grill, your app is anything from the flatbread, sushi, or first course sections yes. Except the big expensive sushi things (i think there are 1 or 2 that are not included. it's obvious by the price which ones they are.)

I wouldn't worry too much about ordering the extra side at le Cellier. You are gonna be so stuffed from having a 3 course meal every couple hours (plus snack credits) that you won't want to look at food anymore.

I only recommend this plan if you are planning on doing several signature dining experiences. Room service, depending on your resort, can also be a WONDERFUL thing to try with the extra credits as well.)

Plus, all of this time dining will sink a lot of time.
If you DO enjoy having 3 full meals a day and don't like sharing items, I still would consider getting the basic plan and just paying OOP for any extra items you may want.

At Le Cellier (or any restaurant) sides or accompaniments that have a separate price point would have to be paid for OOP.

1. Any item from any of those first sections of the menu (flatbreads, sushi or first course), except the two most expensive sushi dishes, counts as an appetizer on DxDDP.

2. Yes, any item from the separate sides section is OOP.

Thanks!
I think going deluxe will work for us for a few reasons:
1. We've got several signature ressies
2. We're basically planning breakfast every morning and then a big meal for dinner-
3. While our total WDW property trip is 14 days- we're only doing DDP for 5 of those days with our linked ressies- so we'll only be stuffed for the last half of the trip :)
4. This is a celebration trip, and I decided that I wanted to go to resturants I've always heard about, but never made it to because I've always been too budget minded when planning WDW trips in the past
5. Also DD is 9 this year, since she'll be an "adult" after this year- we already know it will be a few years before we go back. 9 is the magic # because well- the disney adult thing, but also she's an only child- this means after this year we'll prob. be footing the bill for a friend to vacation with us- she's already asked for a friend to join us- and we managed to say no because we're traveling out of state- and her age, but we know what's ahead...

We just got back last week (boohoo) and took a leap and did DxDDP for half of the trip. I knew going in that it would be a ton of food, but boy was it a ton of food. However, I have no regrets because we were able to enjoy so many dining experiences that we would have never tried like HDDR and so many wonderful breakfast and lunch places. When on DDP, we don't like to do anything but dinner to maximize the cost even though we are bigger breakfast and lunch eaters. DxDDP was well worth it. We did end up doing a few counter services at the resort while lounging at the pool, but still got our money's worth. It was really awesome getting to sample various appetizers too.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
