DxDP credit breakdown - do I have this right?

We've booked the free dining package for Labor Day weekend and found a bunch of reservations thankfully - but I want to make sure I've done this right b/c this may be our 1 and only time on any plan - so I'm thinking of upgrading to Deluxe.

DH and I are staying Friday - Tuesday, so 4 nights. DxDP gives each of us: 3 meals per day and 2 snacks pp each day. So that's 24 total meal credits and 16 total snacks?

Here's our list - have I added this up properly?:

Le Cellier dinner - 4 credits
Kona bf - 2 credits
Cali Grill dinner - 4 credits
CP bf - 2 credits
Coral Reef lunch - split app, entree, dessert - 1 credit (I'm assuming w/ this that 1 of us would order soda & the other water to stick with the 1 drink)
Narcoosee's dinner - 4 credits
Chef M bf - 2 credits
Y&Y lunch - split app, entree, dessert - 1 credit
La Hacienda dinner - 2 credits
Via Napoli lunch - 2 credits

As many of the 16 snacks as possible used at Karamell-Kuche!

Le Cellier is subject to change . . . if so, we'd do only a 2 credit meal that night and maybe split only the Y&Y lunch and add a POFQ split bf the last day.

Looks good to me. I'm also going to split some meals since it's just my DH and me this December and we want to eat at lots of different places. I had planned on just drinking water, too.

Yes, 24 total meal credits and 15 total snack credits. Yes, I believe that's all added up correctly. Are you able to split the lunches and use one meal credit like that? I hadn't thought of that before, it's a good idea if the restaurants don't have a problem with it.

I think I either asked or read another post about splitting a full meal at a TS restaurant. Seems some have done it before. I mean, if they'd let you split normally, I would imagine they'd let you do it on the dining plan . . . . And if you think about it, most restaurants let you split food anyway. They certainly would for an app and a dessert. So maybe adding the split entree's a little weird, but it should be fine.

Yes, Le Cellier and CP are sort of new - haven't been in years. Cali Grill, Coral Reef, Narcoosee's, Y&Y are all new

Kona, Chef M's, La Hac, Via Napoli are favorites.

You got it right.. 4 nights x 2 people = 24 meal credits, 16 snacks. I'm not sure, but some restaurants might charge a plate fee if one person really isn't ordering... but I would do your plan a little differently....

I would not split a meal at Coral Reef or Yak and Yeti. At Coral Reef, the portions were not huge...just right for 1 person. At Yak and Yeti, the food is so delicious, I can't imagine sharing! At Y&Y, the appetizers are great for sharing and trying different foods there.... same with entrees and desserts. I'm glad DW is willing to share with me. These 2 also are some of your more expensive 1TS restaurants. Instead, I'd pay cash (not dining plan) for something else like the Kona breakfast or Napoli lunch depending on what you might order.

While many people like Le Cellier, I'd forget it... There's plenty of 1 TS places in Epcot that are great... and if you are looking for a signature... we LOVED Flying Fish Cafe at the Boardwalk...

I see you are staying at Wilderness Lodge but not eating there. I'd like to try Artist Point someday...

I don't think the portion sizes at coral reef are large enough to split for lunch.
we had app, dinner, dessert there last nov, ans left satisfied, but not full.

I would not split a meal at Coral Reef or Yak and Yeti. At Coral Reef, the portions were not huge...just right for 1 person. At Yak and Yeti, the food is so delicious, I can't imagine sharing! The splitting at CR and Y&Y are more b/c of which days they fall on than anything else. On those days, I have 3 TS meals planned. Character buffets in the morning and then our dinners, 1 of which is a signature. So I was just worried about being too full!

Also, we don't want to have to pay cash for anything (except tips of course). If we're doing the DxDP, that's just going to have to cover us . . . .

Our cost to upgrade would be $264 total, and we normally spend a lot more than that on food. That pays for a couple signatures alone, so I figured it's worth it to try places we haven't.

WL was March; we're actually POFQ this time. And we did do AP in March. I thought it was good, but not great. DH thought the same.

We did the same thing with Le Cellier last trip... went just to see what the fuss was all about! but only 1 credit for dinner then... I'd like to try AP but will have to wait until we stay there at WL one year maybe... If I were to make a special trip to AP, DS will know that Whispering Canyon is there too and be disappointed. Same for California Grill... the last trip when we went there, DS got a glimpse of Chef Mickey's when we were heading to the monorail... Oops!

We did dxdp and had no problems splitting at Y&Y or many other places. I would try to do Le Cellier lunch just to use 2 credits for almost the same food as the 4 so you did not have to share. We were never charged a split fee and many times they comped the extra soft drink even though we were prepared to pay for it.

We did this to try more restaurants and have lite lunches but be assured of a cool place to eat inside the parks.

This is what is written under the "Dining Plan" Thread - from the other answers you received I guess it depends on the restaurant...hopefully no one changes their mind last minute or you might be short credits.

There is no clear answer to this. Consistently, guests seem to be allowed to share the meals ordered on the Dining Plan amongst the guests at their table, with the exception of fixed price meals, such as buffets or other all-you-can-eat options. However, this question has been asked directly to Disney via email, by a number of guests, and consistently, they have answered this question by saying specifically that, "sharing is not permitted." Despite several attempts to get clarification about that statement, no clarification appears to be forthcoming from Guest Communications, and nothing official has been released by Disney Dining to resolve the confusion. Ask your server.

Thank you for that! I think I read that thread before I realized I might want to share, since I don't remember this part . . . I can understand Disney's position I think. The minute they say yes to some type of sharing, all heck could break loose with misinterpretations and such. Saying yes to sharing could also lead to people trying to "sneak" extras perhaps or waste the CMs time asking for other things - "Couldn't we just do X if we're doing Y?" Hopefully, I can explain/ask nice and succintly up front that we just want 1 soda, 1 tap water, 1 app, 1 entree, and 1 dessert and they really won't care.
