She talked to her oncologist yesterday afternoon. The CT scan (I thought it was an MRI, but I guess it wasn't) showed him that the largest mass, which pre-chemo was about 5 1/2 - 6 cm is now about 2 cm. So, it's not completely gone, but it's drastically shrunk. And the other smaller masses seem to be gone, so that's all that's left.
He wants her to get a PET-scan and then talk to him and the radiation oncologist to determine a radiation schedule. We've heard everything from 2 weeks to 5 weeks mentioned (radiation therapy is once a day, Mon.-Fri.), so we don't know how long they plan on making the treatment for. The key, obviously, is ensuring that the mass is completely gone and that it never, ever comes back again.
