DW seeking advice!

Whatever she gets, it needs to be quick so she can break them in well before the trip. Happy travels!

You beat me to the punch. I can't imagine trying to break in a new pair of shoes walking around Disney - hello foot pain and blisters.

Teva sandals. They are cool, dry quickly and are adjustable in case your feet swell in the heat. I would also recommend Body Glide in case the shoes hurt or rub.

Teva Tirras. Cool, supportive, adjustable, good traction when wet, no blisters.

Also recommend switching out your shoes once a day. I wore Teva Mush flip flops in the evenings.

For a warm-weather trip, I'd switch back and forth between two comfy sandal-type shoes.

Just bought a pair of Teva Tirras that I love, love, love! SO comfy right out of the box, with all the adjustable straps making it fit just right. Supportive footbed, padded straps, really feel great on my feet. A bit more stylish than your typical Teva sandal. She could easily wear these with a nicer outfit, even a skirt, without feeling totally unmatched. Reasonable, too, from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Teva-Womens-Tirra-Sandal-Black/dp/B003AYLPJ8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402723770&sr=8-1&keywords=teva+tirra

I also bought a pair of Teva Terra Fi Lites. Also very comfy, a bit sportier - more like a typical Teva style. Got mine on Amazon as well. http://www.amazon.com/Teva-Womens-Terra-Lite-Sandal/dp/B008HOBUQ4/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=17RH7E2TF60ZXN70ZFG2

On previous trips in cooler months, I've alternate sandals with sneakers. Any sneakers that fit her right (she can go to a running store to have her foot and gait measured to make sure they're the right kind as well as right size - there really are "wrong" sneakers!), plus a super-cushy pair of socks (I bought Thorlos before my last Disney trip, and they were amazing, like walking on clouds). I love my Brooks running shoes.

Either way, she'll want some time to break in her new shoes before leaving for your trip! If she's blister-prone, or gets any hotspots from any of the shoes she's planning to bring, I'd pack some moleskin padding (if you're unfamiliar with this, it's available in the foot care aisle of any drugstore, I'd imagine) and a small scissor, and place a bit of the soft padding on the parts where she thinks she might blister BEFORE heading to the parks for the day. Works like a charm. :)

I've found the most comfortable thing for my feet are switching between 2 types of shoes. I go back & forth between my walking shoes & flip flops. The change in cushioning & support throughout the day seems to keep any one part of my feet from getting too sore, which used to be a big problem for me.

The walking shoes I have are Brooks. Every single day of the year, in my non-Disney life, I wear flip flops. So, I was worried about being uncomfortable in real shoes, but the Brooks are great. I didn't even have to break them in really. I only wore them a couple of times for an hour or so before my 1st trip with them & had no problems at all. They are kind of pricey, but since I only wear them on vacation, I figure mine will last for many many years to come.

Last year I took 2 pairs of Sketchers GoWalks for our 10 day trip in August, along with 3 other pairs of shoes (sneakers, FitFlops, and Croc Mary Janes). I NEVER wore anything but the GoWalks and didn't have a single blister.

Another Disney friend of mine calls them "The mom-jeans of shoes" and the description is perfect! They are the lightest, airiest, most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

You can try them on at Kohl's, but it's sometimes cheaper to buy them on Amazon.

:goodvibes

Yes, yes, yes to all of the above!! So comfortable and light! My feet didn't hurt at the end of the day AT ALL like they normally do on Disney trips. Highly recommend. :thumbsup2

Mine are the slip-on kind, but they make them in regular "sneaker look" too. I still wear mine every day walking to and from the train station to get to work.

The only shoe i wear are the original Crocs - so comfortable. i have multiple pairs in different colors. Recently bought several Disney crocs with the mickey ear cut-outs on the top, so i will be Disney from head to toe.

In 2011, went spent a very hot May and I wore a pair of Sketcher Reggae Rasta sandals. They are open, with wider straps than tevas and very, very supportive. I had no blisters and never changed shoes.

That was six trips ago. Every time I keep thinking I'll wear a different shoe, but they are just SO comfortable. My feet aren't tired. And they're reasonably priced.

Sketcher Reggae Rasta. Check out amazon. They also come in several colors.

Keen Whispers are my favorites by far! I'm taking 2-3 pairs of Keens, a pair of orthotic flip flops (not sure what brand but one designed for plantar fasciitis, and maybe one pair of tennis shoes (Asics gels) for our 8 days. Definitely break them in first though!

The wife went Teva.... Appreciate and grateful for your kind advice.
