And I told her that The Dis Boards would rally to her question;:rotfl2:

She would appreciate recommendations for most comfortable AND cool shoe, sneaker, sandal she can get for our upcoming trip in two weeks.

What say you?:)

Thanks

Last year I took 2 pairs of Sketchers GoWalks for our 10 day trip in August, along with 3 other pairs of shoes (sneakers, FitFlops, and Croc Mary Janes). I NEVER wore anything but the GoWalks and didn't have a single blister.

Another Disney friend of mine calls them "The mom-jeans of shoes" and the description is perfect! They are the lightest, airiest, most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

You can try them on at Kohl's, but it's sometimes cheaper to buy them on Amazon.

:goodvibes

We go to Disney a couple times a week (live right down the street) I always wear havianas flip flops or crocs flip flops, you never know when it will Rain, and tennis shoes are no fun when wet.

Would she consider a pair of Keen's? They're outdoor shoes with a sole like a sneaker but will dry quickly if needed. There are many different styles. I would have her go try a pair on and see what she thinks.

I have several flat sandals and ballerina flats from Crocs. Before you laugh at the word "Crocs" check them out first! They have some styles that are cuter than you'd think! None of mine look like the clog style that most people are familiar with. Aside from those, I'll have a pair of traditional sneakers, like Adidas or something. I also love my Sam Edelman Gigi sandals. They go with everything. Links to those and my favorite Crocs below. Hope this helps! Have fun!

I wore (wear) New Balance minimus sneakers. No socks. Lightweight. No blisters. Loved them.

Whatever she gets, it needs to be quick so she can break them in well before the trip. Happy travels!

I second Teva Mush. No breaking in needed. I have had the same pair for 5 years and 3 wdw trips.

I alternate between Teva Olawahu (the best!!!), Teva Tirra, and Asics tennis shoes. So much better than just wearing tennis shoes the entire time

I have merrell sandals. They are the most comfortable and I have never gotten a blister with them w/all the walking. Check out zappos...they ship quickly.

I rotate Teva Mush flips with Teva Tirra's. My feet stay cool and comfortable. I've never had a blister or any problems at all.

The shoe that I find myself wearing the most now is Toms, they come in a variety of styles, colours, and some of them have semi open tops. They've got great arch support and don't stay wet forever after rain like sneakers.

I will always bring multiple pairs of shoes though and try and switch them out each day, and throw sandals on at the resort for wandering around. Your feet will be sore no matter what so it's nice to be able to switch things up during the week.

I'm sorry to tell you...she needs two pairs.

I wore Keens on a couple of trips, but I find them to be hot and sweaty and not all that comfortable. I developed blisters and really sore feet with them. I got a pair of Dansko Dani sandals that are much, much more comfortable. But to make my feet really happy, I switch them out with a pair of sneakers (Nikes, for me) for a day or two mid-trip. Two pairs of sandals would probably work for a summer trip, just make sure they're different.

Alas, I see the Dansko Danis are no longer available on Zappos. I'd look at some other Danskos, though. They are super comfortable.

ETA: These look really similar to the ones I have, and I actually like the way these look better than mine. My husband is going to be very unhappy with you for introducing me to a new shoe I want! LOL.

FitFlops for sure. They turned out to be life savers for me. They are the only shoes I wear to the parks now.

If your DW chooses gym shoes (and I would for sure have a pair along) I was going to suggest getting a couple of pairs of Thorlo roll top tennis socks. They are pricey, but so cushy for your feet. :cloud9: Have a great time, and stop to give your feet a break, no matter how comfy the shoes!

The right Asics. No problems with feet at all, newer shoes, nothing to break in, ordered off of Zappos and we easily did 10-12 miles per park day according to my body bugg data. I also have kinda messed up feet (well foot anyway) so I know that this is superduper important. My friend's sis in law is a physical therapist and recommends Asics too. I regularly run about 5-10 miles a week in them plus workouts.

Second that. Always feel bad for folks with tennis shoes and socks, they stay wet for quite a while, not to mention the blisters.
