My DH's B-day will be during the Children's Miracle Network Golf Tournamnet in October. He has wanted to do this for many years but DD was in school so we didn't go. I'm hoping someone has attended and can give me some info. Are the tickets difficult to get and expensive? Is transportation available to the courses from a DVC resort? Thanks!

It's my understanding that DVC members get free admission to the golf tournament and can bring a few guests.

I didn't go last year but in 2009 you just needed to proceed to WILL CALL at the event and present your dvc card for free admission. Free Parking and shuttles to the event were also provided. I would assume that this has not changed.

They also have a wine and food event with the tournament. They have had food stations set up along a few holes for a progressive meal if I recall correctly. The tickets to the food event would allow for grandstand seating in some instances.

If you are looking for tickets, you can go to the children's miracle network site and I think one day tickets are fairly cheap, like $10. For the week it was like $20. Free parking and shuttles to all spectators.

For some reason I am thinking that you can enter with 3 guests if you show your DISNEY VISA card. This may have something to do with the dining events, but I could have swore there is some kind of disney visa thing with this tournament as well.

Caught my interest too. It would be fun to see professionals on the Magnolia and Palm.

I went back in 2003 (?) I think. It was then called the Funai classic, I think prior to that it was sponsored by Hertz.

Anyway, we were staying at WL and we just went over to the transportation center and took the monorail to Grand Floridian or Polynesian and walked over.

We went on a Thursday, low crowds, no need to get tix ahead of time. It was a blast, we watched Phil and Vijay among others. Got great views and were right up on the tee.

Highly recommended. I go to the Travelers tournament every June and same situation. As long as you dont go on the weekend, you should have no problem.

I was there last year during the tourney but did not attend. I did play at Osprey Ridge one of the mornings and was asked if I wanted tickets for free in the pro shop. My getaway was to play golf, couldn't go to watch the golf too so turned them down.

That said I think they are plentiful.

when we went several years back, we drove to the a designated area at the MK parking lot and they shuttled over to the Palm/Magnolia area. They were plentiful and no wait.

Remember: they are strict about what you bring in. No cameras, etc and purses/carry bags have to be pretty small.

it was a lot of fun - hope you enjoy!
