DVR'ed Survivor...so why did it record 60 Minutes??

I just started watching it...and I'm seeing some ridiculous special about sharks?? What's going on! I saw all week Survivor Finale starting at 7....I can't imagine they would push back Survivor for 60 Minutes...I'm sure Survivor gets much better ratings than 60 Minutes. The first 20 minutes or so of the recording were 60 minutes, and I can see my DVR did not adjust so I might not have gotten all of the episode!

The start of Survivor was delayed by 22 minutes because a football game ran over. If your recording ended at 9 you did not get the end of the episode.

I freaked out at first because my son was fooling around with the DVR machine. It took me a stressful few minutes to realize that it just started late. If you recorded the reunion show, you would still see the end of the episode.

We had to record extra since our TiVo shut off half way through the reunion. We were home and watching (recording for my youngest) so at least we were aware of what was going on.

I'm pretty sure it recorded the reunion so I should be good! Whew!

Thankfully, I set up my second TiVo to record the hour after the scheduled reunion. (Sleeper Cell was being recorded on our main TiVo, the one that gets the movie channels.) Ack! So complicated! Banish football!

Our football ran over by 37 minutes. Highly annoying but DW stayed up and watched everything and will later tell me what happened.

Yep...always a good rule of thumb to set all of your shows on football networks to record 1 hour extra to prevent missing something important.

I actually set all of my regular week shows to record 15 min extra in case of a Presidential speech or something (OK...so I'm a little paranoid and TiVo obsessed!)
