DVCNews October 2025 Direct Sales Article

I appreciate the work they do.

I wonder where November and December will land. Disney doesn’t really care on a calendar year basis how many points were sold, but it will be fascinating to see how the final number compares to 2024.

I know we can’t discern VDH anymore, but does anyone have any sort of sense as to how those sales are going? My sense is they are anemic but not as bad as the cabins.

My other sense is they are trying to move those cabin points a little bit more. But it isn’t doing much.

If the cabins are added to LsL I wonder if that will make it the largest resort by points.
I will honestly be very surprised if LSL is added to the cabins. Two different names, at least pit had the name Polynesian in it 🤣 I know a lot of ppl think they will be added together tho, but I vote no, we shall see

Me just now realizing I went head to head with a DVC News OG over the VGC refurb... :darth:
Yeah…. but that doesn’t mean they have experienced the refurb like current owners have.

And I say that with respect since I listen to the DVC News podcast.

I’m kind of waiting for a guide to call me in December to ask about purchasing VGC direct for my VGC Dec UY so I can tell them “ No!”.

Based on very little but vague intuition, I think we’ll get the final RIV goodbye sale in Q4 2026 (July-Sept). LSL will balance out the following fiscal year and the Poly goodbye sale the year after.

Some mild corporate inside baseball. Zootopia is doing much better than they gave guidance for. DCL Destiny runs a full Q2 and DCL Adventure comes full steam online for Q3.

Personal anecdote: we’ve been going to movies regularly as a family since around 2022. The theatre is always empty, and I worry about how they will continue business. One of our two local theatres closed, so we’re down to one, and it hasn’t been busy at all, ever.

We went last night to Zootopia 2, and the parking lot was packed, which I’ve never seen there. It seemed to be showing on at least half of their screens. Caveat: it was right after Thanksgiving, and we had a lot of snow. But it was still good to see. The movie was great. I was actually invested in the plot.

We tried to go see it yesterday, tried 4 different theaters and all seats except front 2 rows were sold out for showings hours in advance. I’m happy it’s doing so well. We got tickets for today.

Interesting. The weekend after Halloween my nearest mall had traffic sort of gridlocking the surrounding highways in the afternoons. Early activity like that hasn’t happened in ~10 years. Many thought that height would never return after e-commerce took over.

The Cinemark theatre is self standing at that mall. Yesterday its parking lot was packed by 11am.

Not all the malls have rebounded but some are busier than ever! In person things are making a come back.

Just finished updating my post with November numbers. Possible it goes slightly higher…if county fixes any data they messed up in their first pass.

Drop off of more than 30k points from October, with a small caveat. County holiday for Thanksgiving and apparently Black Friday because they processed zero records after Wednesday. Early December will show the county processing some extra data, but end of December will have more holidays and likely staff taking vacation.
