I hadn't tried to log into my DVC account for several months until today. I could not get my username and password to work, so I requested that my password be sent to me. I was surprised that it wouldn't just send me a temporary password and allow me to reset it. Regardless, the password it sent was the one that I was trying. I tried to sign in again to dvcmember.com and it insists on trying to link my disneyworld.com account with my DVC account. But, of course, it does not first let me sign into my DVC account.

I called Member Services and they had no idea what I was talking about.

I now wish that I had never created a disneyworld.com account.

Anyone else ever had this issue? If so, how long has this been going on? I am an IT professional and I know a bad user interface when I see one. This one sucks.

The new DVC site went up last week. The general Disney site is also new by only a couple weeks or so. Both are having a number of issues and things continue to change. Had the same issue as you with the linking of the accounts. I just went ahead and linked the accounts and after that things worked.

I contacted someone at the website help desk for disneyworld.com and they informed me that my dvcmember.com account had been inactivated. They sent me a link to re-activate my account, which I was able to successfully accomplish. I'm happy that I found a knowledgeable person late on a Sunday.

I have no idea why it was inactivated. Seems odd. I'm done ranting, though. I can now begin to think about planning a stay or adding on.

Basically the new Disney World account will need to recognize our DVC accounts so we can book dining at 180+10.

They want the accounts to merge but Yes they are having problems.

This was happening to me the other night when the site was down for maintenance. Try clearing your cookies and see if it doesn't work a little later. FTR, I now access everything by typing in disneyvacationclub.com and it flips to the login page.

I had this problem for 3 days & thought I was crazy, but my wife just told me to use Google Chrom as the browser to get to the DVC site, & Yes it worked No problems..Good Luck all

I had a similar issue with the DVC logins and My Disney Experience logins. I called Disney and was informed that my account was modified to use my email address instead of the member name I've been using for years. I was told this is Disney's new policy and that all users will eventually be converted to this. It would have been nice if Disney communicated this info to me before I had to call in. I've had no issues since using my email address when logging in.

I had the same issue could not log in the site just kept trying to get me to link my dvc account with my Disney.com account and was asking for some activation code that I have no clue where would be. thanks to everyone posting on here I downloaded google chrome and tried that and wa-la I can get in. thank the dis once again
side note ever since I got my new comp with windows 8 I have not been able to get into my online banking site will not let me go past the account summary page. Yet I tried it on multiple comps without windows 8, a tablet and my phone and all worked but did not work on my niece's comp which also has windows 8. well that also worked with google chrome so I have now been able to fix another issue.

I had the same problem and posted almost the exact question a year ago. Your result was better than mine, however.

I was told that the DVC site was getting "confused" with my DW user id, which was the exact same. However, they did not allow me to reactivate for fix my DVC user id, they just told me to make a new user ID. So now, the annoying thing is, I have two user ids, one for DVC and one for DW. :confused3

Just FYI - ESPN.com and other ESPN websites will use/recognize same user I'd and password...I had confusion a while back also

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I also have a separate user name for the DVC site. The interesting thing is that if I am logged in to any other Disney sites I can't log in to the DVC site. I have to log out first and then log in with the new user name. I can't log in to the DVC site with the user name that I use on all the other Disney owned sites though. Also, it made me use the same password. So strange.

See if you can log into the new Disney World site using your DVC user name and password.

If so you are linked.

I had the same issues using Safari but was able to log in with Firefox. My husband was able to log in without any issues on his iPad tho.

I think I'm experiencing a different spin on the dvcmember.com IT issues. When I open dvcmember.com it already has my correct name and password, I don't need to enter it. Then when I click Enter it brings me to a page that wants me to link my Disney accounts and is asking for two unknowns. My Club ID and My Activation Code. My WHAT? I've been a DVC member since 1999 and signed up for dvcmember back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth. How in the word am I supposed to still remember my Activation Code? So I click Cancel since I don't have that information and it brings me back to the dvcmember page with my name and password already entered.

I've tried Mozilla and IE, cleared my cookies, restarted my computer, you name it and yet round and round in circles I go. No access to dvcmember.com for me. Sigh.

Do you have another "Disney" account, such as disneyworld.com? I don't like that they are trying to link these accounts. Worse yet, I could not find a way to delete my non-DVC accounts.

It has to do with the new my disney experience. If you call MS and ask for the codes they will link your accounts. We may not like the changes they are making, but if you want online access, linking your accounts seems necessary. I had to. Now I can view the reservations I make on the MDE app.

I'm having the same issue as you ...

I'm also wondering if part of this issue is that I'm Canadian ... I'm not even sure if we're getting the new disneyworld.com site yet ... though the new DVC one definitely the one that comes up.

I'm having some of the same issues. My email address and password are all ready in place, but when I hit enter, all I get is a white screen. Have tried using Safari and Firefox--same result. However, I was able to get onto the DVC member services website using my iPad, which of course also uses Safari. Go figure. :confused3

This was really an issue two weeks ago when I wanted to do online check in. Hope they get it fixed before my next trip in May!!
