DVCFAM in Disney Millionaire hot seat

Another DVC member made it to the "hot seat" at "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire - Play It!" - me!!!!!!
The thing was - I wasn't paying attention to what the host was saying because a little boy across the audience from me was standing on the steps and I was wondering if he would venture the couple of feet to the stage area. I sudenly realized that it was time for "fastest finger" and I pressed four letters without knowing what the question was. I don't know if I was more shocked or horrified when my seat number was at the top of the list. I was still in shock when the host asked where I was from and I couldn't remember for a few minutes. I lost at 32,000 points but my hat and pins are now proudly displayed.

Congrats!!! I made it too!!! DH and I went a couple of weeks ago, and it was a blast!!! I didn't win the fastest finger question, but the first person only made it to 300. Then, when they posted the top ten, I was shocked to find my seat number on the top. My first thought was, "Oh my gosh, I have to get in front of all of these people". I made it to 64,000 and quit. Too bad it wasn't cash!!! But, I love my pins, hat, shirt and game.

I also made it into the hot seat back in April. I lost at 64,000. I made it into the hot seat after the guy before me won the million. This means that I knew all his questions from 32,000- the million, but I couldn't get my own 64,000 Anyhow, I was a happy camper, and I got a bunch of cool prizes. The worst part about being in the hot seat is looking up and seeing yourself on the jumbotron!!!

Lissete - You're right about seeing yourself on the big screen. I deliberately didn't look there. I thought they may offer to sell a tape of the person in the seat after their turn. They don't.

This DVC family was at WDW for only three days last week and I'm proud to say that I made it in the hot seat, too! Three times!!! The first time I missed the 16,000 point question. The second time, I made it all the way to the 500,000 question, but missed it. The third time, I missed the 125,000 question. I had an absolute blast playing WWTBAM, whether I was playing from the audience or in the hot seat! I can't wait to get back down there to play it again! And, I also have to agree that I couldn't bring myself to look up at the big screen! LOL!

We were there in May and I got into the seat twice. Once on fastest finger and once on points. It was really fun. It killed me that I could answer the other peoples questions and had a difficult time with mine. I missed the 16,000 and then the 32,000 point questions. All in all I still had a great time. Who was hosting when you got into the seat. I had Tracy Woo when I was there. She was really very good. Regis had better watch out.

It is a lot of fun isn't it. I bombed out on the 16,000 point question. Now that I know the answer, I'll probably never forget it from now on.

When they have the fastest finger to start a new round (that is when there isn't another player returning from the previous game), and you don't have a clue about the answer, then just hit four buttons as quick as you can. Mathematically you have a 1:24 chance of getting it right. (4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24 combinations).

The pins and hat are nice, but I sure would have liked to have gotten the shirt. Well, we'll be back in September and try again. Funny how the questions they ask the contestant in front of you always seem to be so much easier than the questions you get...

I am really happy for you. To get in the hot seat must have been really a hoot expecially after you guessed at the fastest finger. I found this new attraction in general to not be all that I had expected. I was a bit disappointed with it. I can not pinpoint exactly why mabye it was the castmembers who sat us who yelled at everyone to take specific seats or the way the host acted on this specific day. I guess I will have to try it again and see if my experience is any better. Well thanks for sharing your good fortune and hope that the rest of your vacation was just as memorable. Yes! All ages are allowed into the game show and EVERYBODY plays! I heard some trivia from one of the cm's that the youngest player to make it to the hot seat was 22 months old! That probably means someone quickly pressed the letters on that child's keypad and ended up being correct.

Try to get a Fast Pass for the game show because the Standby Line is outside. Last week, it was 98º with 98% humidity, and sunny, so waiting in that line was pretty miserable. There is no shade or shelter to protect you from the sun's rays or from the heat. The Fast Pass holders, on the other hand, wait in an air-conditioned part of the buildling were they can watch a video of real Millionaire show clips.

Once you are seated inside, each person has a keypad attached to the back of the seat in front of them. Your seat number is painted next to the keypad. Try to answer the questions as fast as you can to earn points to get to the hot seat.

When we were there last week, the first show of the day was only about half filled each day. If you go to the first show, get a fast pass before you go in to the show. The fast pass will be for the second show. By the time you have attended the first show, you'll have practiced and will be familiar with the procedures and you can walk right back in for the second show with your fast pass.
