Can anyone explain how this works? what do you have to do to be come part of the club and stuff? ive been trying to look but can't really figure it out so if anyone could let me know what the deal is with it that would be great

We joined last May. We went to a presentation in MK (got awesome Super Fast Passes for spending time and not in the parks) and they explained everything. We made an appt. for later in the week to see the models. We were sold so we signed up. It's a point basis and you have to buy a minimum of 160 points. There's always some kind of incentive to join. We got $2000 off since we bought 200 points. You can pay in full, or finance. Right now they're selling in Saratoga Springs and Animal Kingdom Lodge, however you can stay at any DVC resort. They're currently building on Hawaii so we are looking forward to that and we are looking into going to Italy in 2010. We also booked a night in NYC that we are going to be there. You can go anywhere in the world with it; you're not restricted to Disney property. It's been very beneficial for us and we have vacation for the next 47 years! There are annual dues which are due in January too. If it seems like too much, you can always look into resales of the other DVC resorts, like Boardwalk and OKW. The Timeshare Store is the biggest one that sells DVC that I know of.

DVC is a timeshare. each night at a DVC resort is converted into point values (depending on how much space you are taking up - whether in a small studio, 1BR, 2BR or grand villa - and how in demand the time of year is: holidays and weekend nights "cost" more) and point packages are sold to buyers as a real estate interest.
