DVC Weekly Meetings

My parents will be accompanying us this December at SSR, and I'm trying to schedule some time to attend the weekly meeting. And, if one of the parents wants to come along, I'm wondering if they will be welcome or not.

Does DVC mind if you bring guests (non-members) along for the meeting, or is it structured to be more of a members-only event?

Not a problem at all my father has attended the meetings with me in the past at the BW ,I think he went just for the free breakfest the meetngs are in the morning and don't last to long my DW generaly sleeps in have a great trip

DVC views these meetings as sales opportunities as much as informational updates. They'll be delighted to see potential customers walk through the door.

I cannot imagine a time where I would take time out from vacationing with my family to sit in on the weekly update, so they can sell me on something I already own and enjoy. Yeah, it might be nice to get additional information directly from the organization, but time with my family on vacation is just too precious to take time out to sit in a room, listening to sales people, even if they aren't selling right that moment. My time would be better spent either sleeping or going on a nice walk, or even standing in line at the parks.

But hey, different strokes for different folks.

Since they moved the meetings to SSR, most of the posts I've seen indicated that they got away from the sales aspect of the meeting and are trying to keep it informational. The meetings are at 4pm on Wednesday. We almost always go back to the room for our children's nap time mid-day, so it actually fits well into our travel plans from that standpoint. And, we are staying at SSR, so there won't be any travel time involved.

As an owner at SSR, I'm really interested to hear what sort of info they might have to share about Phase 3 of the resort, additional pools, building timelines, etc.

Thanks for the answers to my original question. I'm really not anticipating that anyone will offer to tag along, but I'm just trying to be prepared in case the quesiton is asked.

I think I'm going to put that in my plans right now for November. My son can go check out the pool while I bring my friend along. (psst...she may buy!) I hope so. She's been going for years with her entire family and staying off site. I've extended an invitiation for her to join us next month, just her not the whole family. She just did that last month and I met them all down there for a day. Now she needs some girl-time!!! Once I've got on her on-site, I'm sure she'll never want to stay off-site anymore! I'm sure she'll love OKW and SSR! Thanks for the heads up Tjkraz! I'd forgotten all about those meetings!!
