For the past couple of months I've been having a log in issue for the member website. I generally use Safari on a Mac but have had the same issue with Firefox though it rebounds faster. Basically if I don't log off myself and get logged off, I can't get back in for a period of about a week or so. If I change browsers, I can get in but have the same potential issue. I've deleted cache and cookies without help.

I've had similar issues for much of 2013 with Firefox. However I found that I can switch over to Explorer and almost never have the same issue. It's extremely rare that I ever get around to logging off before the system boots me out so I hadn't noticed if there was some correlation with Firefox not working when it had previously. But then it doesn't happen all the time with Firefox either. Then, if neither work I can usually get on with my tablet. :badpc:

I have a PC and use Google Chrome and never have problems with any Disney website. Lucky, maybe, I don't know.

I do use Clean Up every day on my computer, maybe that helps.

I use Firefox at times (Mac) and it does happen but I only use it secondarily so I don't have as good of a feel there. While it may take a week for Safari to recover, it seems to be only a day or 2 for Firefox to start working again. I'd think it has to be some type of cookie type issue but I haven't figured it out yet. Chrome does work but I haven't used it enough to figure out. I also have Opera which seems to be the most compatible Mac browser when there's an issue and iCab which I don't use very much simply because it's so complicated for all the possible configurations.

I use Safari almost exclusively on my Mac, iPads and iPhone. I have not had any problem <knock on wood> with being locked out. My only issue is that there is a lag time after I click on the "Sign In" button.
As an aside, I don't understand why Disney does not have a logout button on every page of the DVC member website. It would make it so much more convenient to logout. You have to navigate back a couple of pages if you do an availability check. Pretty clunky.

Sign on and let it log you out then try to sign on again later.

Have had similar issues for off and on forever since they changed the website a few years. One of the following usually works: changing browsers, closing and restarting browser, or restarting computer. Since I have both Mac and PC I have also switched computers and that usually works. I have found on Mac that Chrome usually works more than Safari or Firefox. That is also true with iPad although there problems are even more frequent than a regular computer. I actually made a complaint about this problem to DVC Member Satisfaction and got what I thought was for once a very honest answer in a phone conversation: they designed the system to work with PCs and Internet Explorer mainly and had not spent much time or funds on making sure it worked with a MAC or Safari and they had received many similar complaints. They did not know whether it would be fixed in the future.

Just did it. There was a red "You have been logged out due to inactivity" message on the home screen and I just logged in again with no problem. I also tried not logging out and just closing the window and still had no problem. I tried not logging out and quitting Safari and still no problem. I wonder if there is a Safari preference setting difference? Under "Privacy" do you have the "Ask websites not to track me" preference checked? Could that make a difference?

Thanks, no I do not have that checked nor am I blocking any cookies.

I DO have that checked.
OK, thanks, I'll try that and see if it makes any difference. I've also been playing with my cookies and some of the general Disney ones seem to have an effect as well. Obviously I don't want to have to search for offending cookies every time I log in though. I did try iCab and it seems to work and will sign back in even if I've been logged out due to time and get the red lettered warning about the session expiring. The beauty of iCab is that it is infinitely variable for those who know enough to take advantage of, that it is written strictly to HTML rather than to some hybridized version like IE and that you can actually check websites with it to see how HTML compliant they are.

Using ie 11, no issues here. I do delete all cookies once a week.

I make sure I always log off of any Disney website when I'm done for that session.

No IE for the Mac anymore, thank goodness. My view is that using windows and IE is equal to sending out an invitation for a virus or similar.

I often have multiple pages open at one and frequently forget to log off in time.

I checked the box to not allow tracking and had the same issue.

Personally I have found that as long as I use the most basic free virus service the less issues I have with any internet access. Using AVG Free version and 2003 PC w/ AMB tech with no problems logging on - off - on - off
