DVC Vero Beach...how far from Port Canaveral?

Just wondering if any of you have ever stayed at Disney's Vero Beach resort prior to cruising. How did you like it? Was it a far drive to the port? We're renting a car, so transportation is not a big deal.

Any info would be great!

We have stayed there, but not prior to cruising. We live in the area. VB is very nice, very quiet, and relaxing. Two dining choices, large pool, and beautiful beach. If you are thinking abouit doing it prior to your October cruise, that is a great time of year. Excellent weather...peak of the hurricane season is past. The drive to the port is extremely pleasant. You can head north on A1A along the ocean and go directly to the port. Probably a leisurely 1 1/2 hour drive. Very scenic!

We stayed there before our first Disney cruise. One of the reasons we stayed there was because my husband LOVES the pork chops in the restaurant ! We had stayed there previously and really loved the place. If my memory serves me, I think it took about an hour and a half to drive there. Also, depending upon which airport you fly into, there is also the drive to the resort itself. We loved it and would definitely go back. It also depends how many days you are coming in before your cruise. If it's just for one night, I would suggest staying in Orlando or Cocoa Beach. If it's more, and you are a Disney lover like we are, you will enjoy Vero.

It took us about 90 minutes to drive from VB to the DCL Terminal. We really enjoyed our stay at VB and will be going back there again, it was so relaxing being on the beach and sitting by the pool.

We added on a Vero vacation after a cruise and very much enjoyed it. It kept that cruise feeling lasting longer as opposed to flying right home after disembarkation.
