So it looks like we are going to be renting a car for our upcoming stay. I have read some where we can valet free if we are staying at a DVC resort on points.

My question is, which resorts have valet for us to use, and are there any fees?

Thanks!

I'm curious about this service as well.
In terms of fees as with everything in the US I assume you need to tip...but beyond that I don't think there is anything...
But I would love to know the best resorts to take up this service and others where there is no real benefit...

We have never valeted a car anywhere except with a rental elsewhere because it was included (needed) due to limited parking and there was no tipping required.

DVC members can valet park for free at Boardwalk, Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Contemporary (now that BLT is open). Make sure you have your DVC Member Card with you, not your room key.

Don't forget to tip your valet. I always give $2 coming in, $2 going out. More if we have luggage.

Don't necessarily need your DVC card for the free valet parking since your parking pass that goes on the dash states you are DVC. Never been asked for my card, at least not yet. Obviously you don't need to valet park at OKW and SSR since you park right near your room. At AKV, we valet park at Jambo House, but no need at Kidani with the underneath parking and elevator right up to (or near) your room, even though it is available. And like some others said, make sure you tip but as DVC members, there is no per day charge for the valet parking.

On another note, if you are staying at Kidani, unless you have a whole lot of luggage and not enough people to carry it, you don't need to use bell services since you take an elevator from parking right up to your floor, and it isn't that far to your room from where you get off. We waited way longer than we needed to for our luggage to arrive when we checked in. We did it ourselves when we left. Carts are available.

Carts are available!!! Really! The set up at Kidani is my dream....this is what we do when we stay at other apartments etc and it is sooo easy. We are staying at Jambo though........but they don't mind if you are willing to take your own stuff do they from the car at the entry??? I'm happy to carry...but many hotel bellhops pounce on you.

Seems like there were a couple of carts available at Jambo House when we stayed there, but they were difficult to come by. With so many people (we were there over New Years) they were kept in heavy use. Obviously the bell hops aren't lending out theirs to cut into their tip income......

What about Valet at Poly and GF?

No; you would have to pay for valet parking at Polynesian and GF because they are not DVC resorts - - free valet parking is only available to members at DVC resorts that offer valet parking ( OKW & SSR do not).

We have only one time been asked to show our blue membership card and that was for valet parking at BWV on July 4 otherwise usually KTTW card with DVC Member on it seems to be sufficient, however, it has been reported that if you are billed then having blue membership card would be necessary to have charge removed.

:goodvibes

I have heard if you have the TIW card and are eating at one of the onsite restaurants you can valet free at poly/gf. is that true?

At times the valet station does not ask for you blue member card, but two weeks ago we were asked for it many times.

Therefore I would always be prepared to show it.

Yes. You are supposed to present a dining receipt to get the service for free. Tip not included.

Yes, valet parking is free to TIW card holders who are dining any resort that offers valet. You may be asked to show your dining receipt to validate your parking, but I have never been asked.

On a side note, there is no requirement the stay be on points or that you even be staying on property for that matter. Of course that could change.

Are there DVC-specific valet areas at the combo resorts like BW/BWV, or is just one main valet area? We're going to have our 1st DVC trip, but we've normally valeted at BW, BC, WL when dining at those resorts before.

We are visitng Disneyland the end of the month, staying at Grand California (hotel not DVC). Since the DVC section will be open, can we get free valet parking????
