Does anyone know, if we have other Disney trips scheduled (not booked with points) are those covered under this plan as well? Or is it only for the portion booked with points?

It covers your points. Points meaning your dues amount for each point since that is what your out for that years points. Normally $6-8 per point.
If you are using several years , but only purchased policy for one year, then you only will get back money for the certain year.

It can be used for ANYTHING trip you use your points for : dcl, RCI, exchange .

PLUS the trip issues you may have had and medical cost

Just like most insurance worthless if you didn't use/need it.... PRICELESS is you have a issue.

Does anyone know if it covers additional hotel expenses if you get sick while at Disney and can't travel home on the day you're supposed to?

I read through and didn't find a specific COVID exclusion. With the US's new requirement for Canadians to take a rapid test the day before arrival, I am concerned one of us may test positive (being asymptomatic) the day before we leave which is too late to do anything with the rooms we have reserved with points. I wonder if the trip cancellation insurance kicks in if one of us tests positive?

"Most" trip insurance has a review/cancellation period - and sometimes have better coverage if you buy it within 10 etc. days of your first booking (ie if flight or hotel is first, that might be the time to buy it) ... I have not looked at this insurance, but the recommendation above was good - sit down with a highlighter and go thru it. I don't think most "try" to trick you with the wording, but the wording can be confusing anyway
