DVC Travel Show in Rochester?

I am a dvc member and did not get any mailing or email? My son however did at his dads house. So we signed up for 4 Friday. His mailing did not mention anything about add ons.

I received my member invite today. I changed my date to Thursday at 7. I am bringing my children

Mine looks exactly like the one scanned by janni518 except the dates say Nov. 14- 16, the RSVP is www.dvcevent.com/rochester instead of reservation, and at the bottom it says "The complete offering terms are in an offering plan available from the sponsor. Current prices start at $16,640 and certain limitations may apply." instead of the additional 25 point offer.

I think there were 2 differnent mailings- one for current DVC members, and one for those who have either expressed an interest or visited the parks numerous times.

I hope Mickey is there.

Interesting, my invitation says the following, and the dates are Nov 15 & 16
www.dvcevent.com/AAA instead of reservation or rochester... So there's at least 3 different mailings out there.

I am signed up on the 15th at 4pm but it is a 6 hour drive for our family. Can someone post the incentives that they are offering if you attend on Thursday? I am a member and looking to do an add-on but want to know if it is worth my while to make the trip to Rochester.

i got that in the mail today too. It says that you can add on 25 points for 2600.00 but I don't think that is a good deal, does anyone else? We might go out there. It is a 3 hour trip for us but we have friends in rochester that we could see as well. still undecided.

I don't think that's a good deal either?? we haven't paid over $100/per pt for any of our contracts.

Even if you don't take advantage of the DVC "offer," the Strong Museum is wonderful for kids!!!! You can spend a whole day there and not see or play with everything. It's amazing!

In my opinion it is worth the 3-4 hour trip just to go there.
I have a membership there and bring my son every time I'm back "home" visiting in Rochester. If you need any info let me know. (I wish I was going to be in town that weekend!)

We received the flyer for the show in Rochester. The flyer only listed the event as taking place November 14 - 16. We have taken numerous Disney vacations but do not belong to the vacation club. The only times I saw on line today for me were 11/14 at 4:00, 11/15 at 1:00 but that said full and 11/16 at 11:00 a.m. I signed up for 11/14 at 4:00. I work just down the road so I figured that would be a good time. I would have preferred a 7:00 time so I could enjoy the dessert reception more. I'm hoping for Mickey bars!!!! or rice krispie Mickey heads dipped in chocolate. I figured if Disney was doing it, it should be good. I didn't realize how special I now feel after someone is finally doing something in Rochester instead of the usual NYC. I hope Mickey is there too. I haven't seen Mickey since we left the Disney Magic on 9/1 after going on the EB Panama Canal cruise.

Very interestng the different invites out there....Our invite is for Nov. 13-16 and the url is dvcevent.com/reception. For that one, there were only two 4pm times and all the rest were 7pm. I looked the day we received it, which was 10/30/08. Maybe the closer you are to Rochester, they gave that grouping earlier time slots? We have reserved Sat at 7 since we have a 2 1/2 hour drive. For point of reference, we have been members since 2006.

I believe that the link that ends in /reception is for existing members, /rochester is for members who have shown an interest in DVC but are not members, and /aaa- is for undetermined group that are non-members.

I am booked at 4pm on Saturday which is for existing members who want to do an add-on.

This has me really excited as we are thinking about doing an add-on at BLT and anything extra might push over the top to buy!!

I am also signed up for Sat at 4:00. We have no intentions on adding on. I just want to go for the fun stuff... I will drive two hours to see characters and oooh that DISNEY magic. Lets hope for some good new rumors....DCL to Alaska with the new ships? on points since they discontinued it on HAL as of 5/08, I can only wish!!!!!
