Which rooms do the DVC CMs take you to on the tours of the vacation club and what is the compensatiion they usually give you?

The DVC preview center is at SSR and has AKV and BLT models.

There is also a DVC preview place at the Boardwalk where you can see a Boardwalk model.

As for incentives it varies -- some people have gotten FPs, some gift cards, everyone gets free ice cream at the SSR location, some people nothing (we didn't get anything but the ice cream!).

I was curious about this also. Many timeshare appointments say 90 minutes and 2.5 hours later you are wriggling in your seat to get out...is this what it is like?? I want to go to hear what it is about and find out why I think it is a good choice for us, but I would not buy during that meeting in that type of a pressure setting. In fact, I would most likely buy resale after the fact - knowledge in hand.

I've done Starwood and Club Intrawest timeshare presentations and I hate that you have to say no to about 4 people before they will let you leave. Is this what I can expect from DVC?

DVC is very low pressure - you will NOT need to run a gauntlet of sales staff to get "out" of the presentation. I'd plan on 90 minutes - if you have less time just let them know up-front. They provide childcare if needed. The time will actually depend on whether you have many questions - and of course, if you decide to purchase, extra time will be needed to complete the paperwork and enjoy the ice cream afterwards.

If you are staying onsite, they will pick you up and return you to your room or even a Theme Park.

Enjoy! :)

There is also the three SSR models that you can also preview.

You can get $15 gift card per person and fast passes.

The DVC tour will take 1 to 2.5 hours depending on your level of interest and how many questions you ask. The DVC sales tour is by far the most laid back timeshare tour you will ever take. No heavy handed sales tactics, you won't see 3 or 4 closers.

So if I am renting pts and staying at SSR, wilo they call and invite me to have a presetation or should I schedule something. Can I just see the models if I want and not do the tour.....

They will not call you, you will need to call them schedule a tour. Give yourself two days for them to fit you in.

You will not get a call for the tour. You can set up a time of your choosing at the kiosk in the resort lobby or at the kiosks at any Theme Park (and DD).

Usually, the models are open to existing members each evening without the need for a tour, but you will still need to check-in at the sales center. If you are not a member you would likely find the tour enjoyable. In addition to the kiosks, you can also set up a tour right from your villa phone. The TV will usually be set to the DVC channel when you first turn it on - and information about DVC and the tour is available right from your room.

Have a great trip! :)

If you are a member and want to take the tour again, do you need to call your guide or set it up at a kiosks?

What I learned is that they really want you to go thru your guide. Our's is a DL guide and they were having a tough time figuring out what to do with us. I felt a little bit like an outsider to say the least. There was more than one moment where I didn't think they were going to let us tour and I actually had to be persistent. Definitely not a normal timeshare.

If you want the whole tour, set it up with your guide in advance. If you just want to visit the models during the day you can even walk into the sale center and they will assign someone to accompany you thru the models to answer questions.
