We are interested in gathering some preliminary information about DVC. How high pressure is the sales tour? I know we won't buy right now, but we definitely want to sit down with someone and look a round, ger prices and info etc.

Also, do you know if they still offer ice cream or incentives for the tour? I'll need something to woo my boys with so they don't mind having to come.

In our experience, the tour was low pressure--it was more informational. You are presented the option to buy in at the end, but no pressure. You can take all the info with you in a nice, hard back book. We did not buy right then, but keep in contact with our CM and bought later when we were ready.

We did get snacks at the tour, and they had a nice kids supervised play area. We got two fast passes for any attraction/any park, but that is not why we went. It was meant to compensate us for time, not be a reward.

I would say that the tour was worth while, even if you are not sure you want to buy.

If you are thinking of buying into DVC, then I would say yes the tour is definitely worth it. We went on one in September because we knew that we wanted to buy into DVC, however, at that time we weren't thinking of doing it then, thought we were going to wait for awhile and then buy when we were ready. When we went, they picked us up from our resort and took us over to SSR to talk with our guide and to look at rooms done up as BLT and AK. We were so impressed by everything that our guide had told us that we went ahead and decided to buy a small contract at BLT (100 pts and will build it up when we feel we have the money to do so). Our kids were very happy staying at the play area while DH and I went about our business, they did not want to leave either. After everything was said and done, we all had ice cream at their ice cream parlor, then they went and drove us to wherever we wanted to go next. The incentive that we got was a $100 gift card for taking the tour. I highly recommend anyone who is considering purchasing DVC to take the tour :thumbsup2

I thought it was actually a little weird that they applied no pressure. It was refreshing. We could take our time (and we did - 2 years!) and make the decision when we were ready.

They did give the kids treats ( i think it was ice cream and cookies) and had toys and video games and we also got instant fast passes. Well worth the 1 hr presentation.
