I have 2 of those tote bags you get as a welcome gift. Are they to big when stuffed full to use as a carry on? We are trying to avoid having to pay for baggage but are unure if these will fit as carry on's. Anyone ever use them? Thanks for the help.

I use mine. However I would not consider it "stuffed full" . THere's genearally a lot of space left and it fits under the seat in front of me.

Remember one of your carry ons has to fit in that space and it's not a huge space. Especially if your airline has TVs in the seat backs!

I used that and a small rollaboard on my last trip. It fit easily under the seat in front of me, even in the small space when I was on an aisle. It was pretty full, too.

I am not sure what we are doing. Maybe we will pre-pay for one bag then use those for carry ons. I do not want to get there and pay to check them if they are to big. Thanks for the help.

I have carried mine on full to the brim with the zipper bulging and it fits in the overhead no problem!

Good to hear that they fit. I would love to not have to pay for luggage after we paid for ourselfs to get on the plane. Thanks again.

we used them too as carry ons. They fit perfectly in the overhead bin and I had no issues from the airline bringing them on. I didn't try to put them under the seat since I need that space for my feet anyway.

I used ours as my "personal item" and it was so full I couldn't fit another thing inside. I also had a piece of carry on luggage. We flew AC (and they are pretty stern) without a problem. Oh and I also had a garment bag (Victoria and Albert attire). Which airline are you flying ?

I've used one as a carryon a number of times. It works well for jackets we don't need in FL, food for the plane, etc.. I even checked it once although I can't remember why? It looked pretty funny coming around the carousel but made it fine other than needing to be laundered.

I try to remember to keep one in storage in FL....Owners Locker kind of thing except we have family that are kind enough to do that for us.

Mine is stuffed to the brim.....fits fine. Love that bag:love:

If you go to the website of the airline that you are flying there will be an information section on luggage and give dimensions of bags that are allowed as carry on. The DVC tote bag would be considered as a personal item for most airlines and shouldn't be a problem.

One thing to keep in mind is if you are one of the last people to load onto the plane you could end up having your bag gate checked if all overhead space is full. I see this happening more and more as the airlines are charging fees for luggage. If any bag won't fit under the seat in front of you this could happen and should be considered for any breakable items. But so far it's only if your last to board.

Thanks all.

We are flying Spirit Air out of Atlantic city, NJ. I was going to do it and thought it would be fine until...

We are going to be one of the last ones to board. We are sitting in the front of the plane. I wanted to have the kids on the pplane as close to last and be able to be first off.

Oh well, I will pack them at home and see how it goes. If they look like I can crush them to fit under a seat I will go for it.

Thank you again.
