I've told some friends and family about DVC and some have expressed an interest and said they want to go with us to check it out. Well, today I get the email about the referral incentives and it mentions "touring" by telephone. Has anyone ever done the telephone tour and, if so, how long did it take?

Thanks!

A friend of mine is going to call about doing the tour this evening. She's gonna let me know how it goes and then I'll let you folks know too.

I had a relative do one yesterday, i believe she said he talked for about 15-20 minutes, then said he would send the info and give her a call back. Don't know how long it takes for the 2nd call.

Couple of my friends did the telephone tour and my guide sent me two email coupons for $25 each good at DisneyDirect.

I just got an email about this and until the end of the month the incentive is doubled. So now you'd get $50 gift card for up to 4 referrals.

I was wondering how this works. I recently referred a few people but no-one has contacted them yet so I wonder if I should submit their names again. Annmarie

Both of my friends got the info package and DVD but, did not think it explained enough. So they called the sales guy (guide) and had a more in depth conversation and he then sent more detailed info such as points chart and such. I'm pretty sure when both decide to jump in that they are going to go the resale route though and I would not blame them.

I don't believe you submit their names to DVC, you get them to call or request a DVD and they put your name in the referal section.
Note: not all states are eligible for the referrals and there are 2 different types of referral bonuses. 1) A gift card to disneydirect.com just for having the person complete a tour-either in person or on the phone; 2) A cash bonus if the person actually buys in.

This is from the terms & conditions:
Which states are eligible for the Program?
An Eligible State is any state that permits, by law, rewarding Members for their participation in the Program. Currently those states are: Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin. Puerto Rico also is an eligible jurisdiction.

According to the information I received, it would be sent via email within 10-days.

I didn't think that DVD was very good. It was mostly just interviews of members with them saying how much they liked it. That's all well and good, but prospective buyers need more in-depth information. I guess Disney has determined that it's more effective for the DVD to be light on facts and then have prospective buyers call to get more detailed information.
