We are staying at a DVC studio this year, does anyone know if there are any bowls/spoons etc. I understand the rooms come with a kitchenette.

thanks
Rob

You will get paper plates and bowls, disposable cups and plastic 'silverware' (that term always cracks me up :) ). You can request real drinking glasses and mugs if they are not provided (OKW and perhaps SSR) and also a tea towel (kitchen towel).

There is a microwave, toaster, can opener and under the counter fridge as well as a small sink. It's an ideal set up for breakfast and the odd snack. Even when I'm staying in a 1 bedroom with the full kitchen, I rarely use any more stuff than I do in the studio ;)

Moira(or anyone whos stayed there),
Is there a coffee maker in a studio at OKW?
Was reading list of whats included and coffee maker was listed for 1 & 2 bed villas but not studio's.
Thanks.

Yes there is, Wayne. Plus a couple of single-use ground coffee packs, sugar and dried coffee creamer. If you're a cash guest, these will be replenished daily.

The coffee pot is a 12-cup type and if you are not using coffee packs then you will need the basket-type flat bottomed filters (really cheap from all the usual places). We always take our favourite vacuum packed coffee from home.

Thanks both of you.
Was half hopeing there wasn't, now means I have to get up 15 mins earlier every morning to make DW coffee.:rotfl:

As you should Wayne ;) It's what DH does for me too and what I miss most when I go with my friend - who wouldn't care if she never had a hot drink again!

Does any DW get up and make DH coffee? what happed to eqality? life is so not fair sometimes:rotfl2:

Yes, we share the coffee making duties - both at home and away!

it depends on which of us gets up first who does the coffee, thinking back in the days when we used to get refillable mugs, it was always me who toddled off to the food court in the morning to get the coffee, Ian used to find it hysterical that this became my chore - sick man !

I like a little lie in on a morning, Karen gets up has shower and gets ready, 20-30 mins later gets me up. If there is a coffee maker then she gets me up same time as her to make coffee.:goodvibes

Thanks all for the advice. DW does not drink coffee so are there any facilities for tea? How often are the paper plates and 'silverware' replensihed?

The studio sounds ideal for us as we will have a TS meal every day but need some breakfast and drinks etc.

Unless you take a travel kettle with you, your best bet is to microwave a mug of water. In theory you should be able to make tea in a coffee maker but unless it was brand new, I wouldn't fancy it :crazy2:

Wayne: Not surprised you like a lie in on holiday - I expect you put in very early hours as a florist. In our case, my DH is a morning person big time. He hates to be in bed after 6.30 am - even at weekends, so if he brings me coffee (he always checks what time I would like my coffee the previous night) it's his way of getting me moving ;) .

Normally in Florida he's been up before 5 am and done at least an hour on the computer before he gets my coffee. Needless to say, we don't do many late evenings either :).

Any suggestions for a good travel kettle?

I am not usually a morning person but whilct at WDW I am up first and ready to go :cool1:

Sorry no - I have a big Wal-Mart one myself but I'm sure somewhere like Argos would have a decent choice. You do need one with a dual voltage switch and of course an adaptor.

Just to reiterate that you should look for dual voltage kettle (where you have to switch from 240 to 110v). We had a universal voltage travel kettle (would work on either 240 or 100v without switching anything) a few years ago and it took for ever to boil - our current dual voltage one is much quicker :)

We bought a kettle from the Walmart in orlando. Cost us about £4. We just take it with us whenever we go, packed with tea. much quicker than a travel kettle. :thumbsup2
