We are going to do an inn room studio at Vero and I want to make some food in our room. Is there rules on bringing small appliances (crockpot, rice cooker, etc)? Have you ever cooked in a studio? I need a few ideas.

There are definitely rules, as it is a fire hazard to leave a crockpot going all day if you are not in the room to check on it.

I would have salads, sandwiches, leftovers and foods that can be cooked or heated (eggs/hot water for instant soup/oatmeal) in microwave.

We picked up a cooked meal (chicken/ribs) at Publix more than once and brought back to our room, Pizza can also be delivered to resort.

There are many great restaurants in the area we went to. We went often and stayed for a week. Changing it up/having options is good and we managed great being in a studio (2).

I have something similar to this that I have used in studios. I found it works best for medium to small sized pasta. Larger pasta like spaghetti or rigatoni cook a little bit uneven, but elbow macaroni cooks fine.

I have also bought the “pre-cooked” rice packages in different flavors and then added things to make a full meal. If you are driving, it’s easy enough to pick up the frozen, fully cooked, grilled chicken or beef strips and frozen/fresh vegetables to add in. Most of the frozen things will be okay for a few days in a refrigerator but you need to adjust the cooking time since they are thawed.

We have been known to bring a small air fryer when staying in a studio. But anything more than that is a hassle, takes up too much room.

I remembered this thread and thought it might help. Yes, I have it bookmarked because it's so interesting!
