DVC Stay Pre Cruise Question

We have booked a Disney cruise with cash. We are thinking of staying the night before using our DVC points. My question is with travel insurance. I am planning on buying travel insurance on my own to mainly cover the cruise. I am assuming if there was some issue that the insurance wouldn't cover point loss since there is no financial loss. Does anyone have experience with this?

I believe it only covers dues?

So unless staying in a 3 bedroom maybe not even worth it?

Dues($5?)x Points(15?)=$75 more or less? You get the idea.
