Hello, Everyone,
I have a question, I booked a 3 night stay on pts at BLT, I didn't have enough pts so I booked 2 extra nights with CRO at BLT. It was cheaper since it's 40% off. Both are same toom locations, lake view.

My question is, do we have check out then back in? I would really love to stay in the same room since it's back to back.

Thanks:goodvibes

Yes, you will have to check out and in again, but when you check in, be sure to mention this to the people at check in and see if they can work any magic to let you stay in the same room. We have been able to do that at OKW as long as we spoke to them about it up front when we checked in the first time. Of course, there are no guarantees you will get the same unit, but at least at OKW I know they try.

The problem could be at BLT, you are checked in by CR people, and they may or may not have all the necessary DVC information.

As Diane suggested they can do it, but will they do it, is the question.

Ask at check in and if the CM says no, ask to speak to the on duty manager, as they are the ones that can make it happen.

If they allow you to stay in the same room, you will have to come to the front desk, check out and check back in, get new keys etc.

Also on the day of the "move" if you are allowed to stay in the room be ready for housekeeping to be all confused and insisting you are leaving that day and bugging you wanting to clean the room.

I would go get my new keys early, so you have time to notify housekeeping of the situation.

I will say that OKW and SSR are better at doing this, than the DVC resorts connected to Disney hotels.

I suggest you call DVC and have them note your CRO ressie # on your DVC ressie...also, call CRO and have them note your DVC ressie number on their system.

HTH

(Diane's right, you'llhave to at least do the paperwork of check in/out...but if the 2 are cross referenced, you may not have to physically change rooms - so long as the room catagory isn't different.)

We had to stay an extra night over this past Christmas due to a snowstorm interfering with our flight home. We were at the BWV in a 1 BR standard view room on points. Since the night we needed to book was December 28th, nothing was available on points. So we paid cash (rack rate-gulp) to stay in the same category room so we wouldn't have to move. It was very easy; the front desk at BWV said as soon as we had the confirm # from CRO, to give it to them and they would block our room for us. Since you already have your confirm, be sure to mention when you check in for your points reservation that you have a continuing cash reservation, and ask them to "block" your room. That way it can't be assigned to anyone else. Good luck!
