Hello Again All,
So I'm still new to this message board and my wife and I are still learning about the DVC program. Currently when we travel on vacation, we make it a priority to visit the spa (whenever there is one). What have been your experiences at the spa at the DVC or other Disney destinations? Do you all even use the spa, as a DVC member? How are the spas? Anything helps me to Earn my Ears!
Thanks,
Mickey-in-Training

My wife did a spa treatment at The Grand Floridian.....and this is the one she compares to the local ones. She said the local ones are nice, but not nearly as nice as the GF one!

I have used the Spa at SSR twice so far. The first time I did a regular massage which was great though a bit more pricey than what I normally pay at my local massage theropy place. In December, I made my own package my doing both a stone massage and then a facial. They were both awesome and it ended up being a really relaxing afternoon.

We have used the SSR Spa twice now. Both times have been awesome. DH & I usually get the couples massage & then I'll get the facial. We both go every Sunday for massages & we've had our share of bad massages but, SSR is right up there with the spa's here in NY. I highly recommed them.

NYC? I now off subject but which good ones are there here in Ny. Im still looking.

My wife got a massage at the Spa at SSR last time we stayed there. She enjoyed it very much and said the spa was very nice and relaxing. The 10% DVC Member discount was nice as well!

what kind of cost was there?
anywhere cheap/free to park the kids while you go to the spa? my kids are a bit older at age 12

I've done the GF spa twice and the SSR spa at least a half dozen times. I like the SSR spa much better. The DVC discount, if they still offer it, does not apply to all treatments. There are only a handful of the basic treatments that had discounts.

The spa is nice but for someone who has traveled to other destination spas, these do not really compare. However, a day at a spa is better than a day somewhere else.

My DGF and I visited the SSR spa last year on our girls trip and we are planning to go for more this May it was so good! I had a Mystical Therapies (it is one of the DVC discounted treatments there) and I think I'm having it again, I really loved it (and I, too, have been to some nice spas to compare with ;))! To me it compared to what a nice spa in a very nice hotel would be. Only some treatments are discounted 10% at SSR- there is a list on the website. At GF, we get 10% off all services. At BW, BC, AKV, Contemporary and VWL we get 20% off massages. The "sunrise awakening ritual" at the Swalphin spa has a special price of $240 for members.

Here is a link to the Spa company that handles all the services at SSR and GF- prices are before any discount- http://www.relaxedyet.com/. Hope that helps!:goodvibes

I live on Long Island so I usually go to Elizabeth Arden in Huntington Station or Jason Royce Salon & Spa in Westbury. Sometimes if we are out east I'll go to the Inn at Eastwind in Wading River Hope this helps
