I know that DVC took back a bunch of SSR contracts thru ROFR in 2022 and that they're not selling many direct points there lately. Is DVC allowed to offer those contracts on the resale market with the same restrictions in play as any other reseller if they wanted to raise some quick cash?

DVC only sells direct and without restrictions.

Do you mean could DVD sell their points as any only owner? No, I do not think they can as a developer, especially since they have to approve the sale via waiting RoFR. .

Once points go back to them, there is no more conteact…the points simply become part of their inventory for declared points ready to be sold.

Rememger, they don’t pay operating costs on those points so it limits what it costs them to hold. And, they can rent for cash so no need to sell.

This makes sense. I was just thinking they might be allowed to sell the contract thru a broker as you or I could but without a contract to sell it's a moot point. Thanks.

They have done more or less what you’re suggesting though; a few months ago they put their stash of AKV points on an absolute fire sale - you could get a direct contract for what a resale contract went for 18 months ago - they just did it via their direct channel.

Is there a limit to how many they can hold once no longer in active sales? I know theres the floor of like 3% they gotta keep, but just curious if there is an upper limit as well.

I have seen nothing to suggest that so I think they can hold as many as they want. But, it doesn’t really benefit them to have a lot of sold out resort points.

While I think that they use ROFR when they may want to sell points, i think There are other reasons as well.
