Caskbill has offered GPS <a href="http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=160187">"Pathways Revealed"</a> reports from several areas around WDW.

Perhaps these reports will provide enough variety for your runners! :) As one who has two DD's who ran in both high school and in college, I can appreciate the need! (At that time they always trained at what is now SSR when we were at WDW!!) ;)

Enjoy!

maybe do that twice and then around the lake once. CaskBill's pathways reports should give you more exact measurements. But my recollection is that from the Swan-BW bridge to MGM boat launch is roughly 1km, and a relatively pretty run. There is probably more foot traffic to contend with on the loop around the lake in front of BW and BC/YC, except early in the morning (when they are likely taking their runs anyway).

on the front of the BC resort - yes I know you say BW - but I can't remember where it is there - there is sidewalk (this is close to the road) - it goes up to the dolphin and swan and all around that block - you can see it from the road - it ends up somewhere either behind the Swan or on the BW - I just don't remember.... Ask at the front desk - they had a map at one time of this trail - it told the mileage.

Deb Will's site has a great map of jogging options in the Epcot Resort area. It illustrates four routes from .8 mi up to 2.4 mi.

See it at http://wdwig.com/jog.jpg.
(hope the link works)

Yea!!! - the solid line is the trail I was talking about - it is generally on a paved sidewalk - but not always.

because it is not in the resorts - you don't have the problem with people walking all around you and in front of you - but you do have to watch for traffic.

The link for Deb's is (same as above without the . at the end)

I DO NOT feel the need to run, far from it, but as a full service Evil Emperor the least I could do is fix the link

My advice would be to go to http://www.disney-deads.com

There you will find maps under the "Running at WDW" button along with descriptions and distances.

I believe you can also pick up a jogging map at Swan or Dolphin for the Epcot resorts. Maybe someone can confirm?

Hope this helps!

We stayed at BCV and did the loop from Epcot to Disney Studios several times. Husband added the exterior loop as well, but wasn't crazy about going under the canal between BCV and BW - no sidewalk there. He'd head to Swan, take the path up to outer loop, run the outer loop to just past the BW, run down the steps back to the DS-BW path, over to DS, back past the BW, then back to BCV. I think that was about 5 miles total. He has a GPS now, so in January, he can clock it better.

I figured about 2.5-3 miles doing the entire inner loop. But I went all the way to the Boat Dock at DS, then all the way to the International Gateway at Epcot.

The loop around Crescent Lake is 0.8 miles (0.79 according to Caskbill). Just run 4 laps and it will be as close to 5K as you can get without measuring your own course. (4*0.79 miles = 3.16 miles = 5.08553 kilometers) .

Thanks guys! If these kids don't run and burn off some energy like they are used to there is no living with them as they will look similiar to Linda Blair. We have friends who actually think we are mean when we tell them it is time to run like we are drill seargents or something but it is really a matter of mental self defense! HA!
