Hi, I've been trying to research the room at the DVCs.

Is Old Key West the only one that has 2 beds in their studios?

We liked Boardwalk location however, it looks like there is just one bed and a sofa pullout. We were trying to avoid pullouts

We've been staying at the All Star Music the last few years but those rooms are getting too small with a growing 6-yr old daughter and 8-yr. old son.

We wanted to upgrade to a bigger room without busting the budget so the DVC point rental seems like the way.

Guess a negative would be if we hurried up and booked and THEN they decide to offer free dining, we're stuck since the DVC don't offer free Dining?

Thanks

OKW is pretty much it.

if you book a DVC villa directly through disney and pay full price, i'm sure they will offer you access to any free dining promotions they are offering at the time.

if you rent from an individual DVC owner like me, i'm not paying for your food...

renting directly through disney also gets you daily housekeeping and a cancellation policy. renting from an owner gets you housekeeing (in some form) every 4th day and generally, no refunds.

are all stars you had 2 full (double) beds.

at OKW you get 2 queen beds

at BWV you get 1 queen bed and a sleeper sofa that is full.

consider the savings of renting points vs. free dining.

Sample dates: check in July 14/check out July 21
Old Key West Studio - 108 points
Rack rate with free dining (if it's offered) $2647
Discount rate from disney 30% off (if it's offered) $1852
Rent points from David or another source at $13 per point: $1404
Rent points from a private source on disboards at $10 per point (more work, but probable for OKW): $1080

will you spend the $1643 savings on a dining plan? Personally, I'd take the savings and risk the cancellation/forgo the daily houskeeping/and pay a ton less money for food..... but that's just me.
