I was wondering if anyone can more clearly explain the logic behind how only a portion of DVC resort rooms are actually available to rent on DVC points. I understand "that's just how it is". But I don't really "get" it. Is it wrong to think these rooms were specifically built for DVC members ?
Like I get if a resort of fully booked, and there are so many points to go around. And I get that if rooms are left UNbooked, that someone should be able to book it as a hotel room with cash. That all makes sense to me. Not to mention I'm talking about the Beach Club Villas, which are small to begin with.
But for example, we are going in early January. *terribly* busy season I know. We have most of it booked except for the few "nightmare" days. Which are not available. Makes sense. These are the nightmare "marathon" days.
*BUT* if I go through the regular Disney booking site, and book a vacation from Dec 31-Jan 7 ( for example ), I can pick a studio and complete a cash reservation NO PROBLEM.
I know this is "normal", but I don't really understand the system.
