Hi,

We (DH, DS (6yrs) and DD (8yrs)) went to Disney world last year for the first time- and could not wait to come back!

This year we are going at the beginning of February and thinking of renting points from a DVC member and staying at one of the VC resorts.

They all look great- anybody have any suggestions- which is your favorite/ why?

Thanks for any insight you can provide!

the park of your choice will probably be MK - with 6 & 8 year old - then I would go with VWL.

It is beautiful in its own right.

BWV and BCV are great too - but only if the majority of your trip will be at Epcot or Studios. with a 6 & 8 year old - I don't think so.

I love OKW - it is relaxed and lay back - some people hate it because of this...

SSR is the newest. Disney used the best materials available for this place. It is definitely a showcase. Beautiful, refined, elegant - it is very nice.

OKW and SSR are bus transportation only. well they have a boat to DD.

BWV and BCV are boat or walking to Studios & Epcot - everywhere else is bus transportation

VWL is boat or bus to MK. Everywhere else is bus tranportation.

I know I'm biased, but we LOVE VWL.

It's way smaller than any of the other VC and the bus stop is right out front.

Your secluded so it's quiet but yet close enough to everything you'd need at the resort (although the snack bar could be outside my door and my refillable mug would still be too far away! Lives on diet Coke dontcha know!) :rotfl:

You can see the water light parade from the beach.

WCC and AP (our absolute favorite!) are onsite. and it's only a boat ride to FW for HoopDeeDoo

We've stayed everywhere at WDW VC except OKW. That's next year! IMHO nowhere (so far) has the same "character" as our home. Don't get me wrong, they were all nice with no problems at all, just not as much "theme" detail. :wizard:

if you are thinking of renting dvc points why not think of purchasing your own?
i spent a lot of money for for 10 years at disney before i finally got smart. i purchase at ssr and purchase another add-on (small). now i have purchased at resale at bwv because we love the bw/bc area. it is still easy to get to the other parks from there.
we never miss a park when we are at wdw. have never stayed at wlv, but hear that it is great.
if your children are that young, you have many years of wdw to go. dvc would work well.
 ciao.

I thought that perhaps renting a reservation first would be a great idea- it would allow us to see what it is all about. I am sure we will love it! Now, I just have to get brave enought to post something on the Rent board......

I suggest you contact a renter to check availabilty for your dates, this may help you decide. When we rented points in August for our January trip ,the only resorts with studios available were OKW and SSR.

Hey ShO1
Welcome to the boards. My all time favorite is Beach club villas (it barely beat out WLV's). We love the location (walking distance to Epcot), we love the pool, although I don't know how much swimming you guys will do in Feb. There are lots of dining options in the resort and across the lake at the broadwalk. I never get tired of going and luckily it's my home resort

BWV is my favorite because it's closest to Jellyrolls :dance3:

Depending on when you are going, BCV is really good because of the mini waterpark that is available only to the guests that stay there. If you are going in the winter then I recommend the VWL because of the location to MK.

I hope this helps.

I love the Boardwalk Villas, you can take the boat to MGM or Epcot or the bus to the other parks, my kids love the clown slide there. They could do that all day I'm sure. :cheer2:
