I have heard how fast the Christmas decorations go up all around WDW, and I am wondering how long they stay up. We will be visiting on Jan 2 - Jan 8 at SSR and would love to know if any of the decorations will still be around the resort or parks this late?

There will still be many up but they do start taking them down soon after Christmas. Last year on the day after Christmas they were digging up the poinsettias in the gardens at the BCV but the trees and the other decorations were still up when we left on January 2, as were most other decorations as well.

It is a great time to visit WDW. Have a great time.

Thanks Happy Birthday Cat thats great news.

Kind of like an extra added bonus....

I know not quite the same as seeing them befoer the holidays, but nice to see 'em just the same.

At VWL, they took down the decorations at the lodge during the night after the marathon. In the parks they took them down before the marathon.

You should be able to see lots of them.

Deb;

What are the dates of the Marathon?

And do you know if the Osborne (sp?) lights would also still be on display?

The Lights are on through January 2.

The marathon weekend is Jan 7-9. If they follow the same schedule, WL would have stuff coming down during the night on Jan 9. When you get up on Jan 10, you'll never know it was even there. We saw several large semi-tractor trailers parked near the valet parking at WL on that Sunday night this past January. In the morning, they were gone, along with all the decorations.

Thanks again HBC.... and sorry to be fuzzy, just want to be clear.... but this means the night of the 2nd the lights would still be on?

WOOOOHOOO extra bonus!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I don't blame you for wanting to make sure. According to AllEarsNet, they will be up on that night. Takes a look at this link:
