Does anyone know if they have a hot tub at the DVC/ Disney Hilton Head resort and also at the beach house?

Which place has the better pool?

Do you know of good places to shop and visit in Hilton Head other than the outlets and the lighthouse?

Thanks! :goodvibes

** there is one on the main side located inside the gate of the pool area.

Which place has the better pool?
** what do you consider to be the good/bad of pools? great slide at the pool on main side.

** what do you want to shop for that isn't found at outlets? what sort of actifities do you like when visiting somewhere?

with a little more insight those of us who have frequented this resort might be able to give you some specific info to help. there is also a hhi resort lovers thread that you might search for - oodles of info there!

Thanks! :goodvibes

hope this helps a little.

I love the hottub. Our last trip I stayed in it almost every morning. It was wonderful for my knees.

The Beach House does not have a hot tub that I am aware of. Wish it did.

Across the bridge to the resort is the Shelter cove shopping area. There are a number of touristy shops and restaurants. Easy walk from the resort.

Across the bridge and a bit further to the left is the Shelter Cove Mall. You could walk there also, but, only if you don't buy much.

There are a number of shopping areas around the island. Explore and enjoy.
You can also just drive over here to Savannah and spend money. Please come and spend money!

And remember. They sell Mickey Ear Ice Creams in the shop at the resort and the Grill at the Beach house. You have to have your priority right.

They are both nice pools, but we preferred sitting by the ocean. The water is so calm and warm it's like a giant swimming pool! :)

There are many many shops on HHI. The mall is small but I like the store inside like the J. Crew Outlet and Belks. There is a Home Goods store on the island which is fun. It is a TJ Max store but the whole place is filled with home good and it is large. There is also a TJ Max right by the resort.

If I were you I would just drive around and stop where you see something interesting. I have been going to HHI for 17 years now and there is always something new. Just be careful as the traffic is crazy.

Only hot tub is at resort pool.

We like both pools. Kids love the slide at resort pool. Beach house pool is fun to cool off in while at the beach. We LOVE HHI's beach!!! The water is super calm and the kids have such fun making great sand creations. We are on the beach every morning, take a dip in beach house pool while filling our mugs or grabbing a bite at cs and then we go back to resort and their pool in the afternoon and evening.

We didn't really do much shopping but we found lots of good places to eat in Hilton Head!! Truffles Cafe was one of our favorite meals...Roastfish & Cornbread is authentic Gullah / lowcountry style cooking (we tried alligator there). One Hot Mama's is casual BBQ and very affordable. We also enjoyed Alligator Grille (found a coupon on restaurant.com) although I think we liked Truffles better (larger portions) we thought it was good too (some of the reviews on it are mixed). We walked over the bridge to the shops across the inlet and ate at a very mediocre Mexican restaurant one night...I don't remember the name and would not recommend going there unless you just really just want someplace close and within walking distance. It was our worst meal all week. There is also a pizza joint (Guiseppi's) not far away that was OK for cheap eats. Not the BEST pizza we've ever had but it was OK....there was a long wait so we expected a little more I think. (I think they deliver to the resort too.)

DS and DH really enjoyed the pool at the beach house...they played volleyball with other guests and had a good time. We moved up there from the beach every afternoon to sort of rinse off & relax. We went in August and there were a lot jellyfish so it was hard to stay on the beach all day without a way to cool off.

We are here now and have enjoyed both pools. I have teenagers who like to sleep, so I have been riding my bike or running to the beach house in the morning. I have found lots of starfish, sand dollars, and beautiful shells. Of course I left the live creatures and just took some awesome pictures, but have collected many pretty shells. I teach special ed and can't wait to show my students the shells.

It sounds like a perfect, laid back vacation! Enjoy it!

It is. Thanks! We didn't expect to like it here so much since we love the fast-paced DW trips.

Thanks for all the helpful replies! The hot tub at the resort was so nice and relaxing. The kids loved the pool's waterslide. We can;t wait to go back. As we were leaving there were 3 dolphins splashing n the water just out from our room....

There is a hot tub by the main pool. My only complaint is that I often see litter in the bushes around the hot tub. The beach house doesn't have a hot tub but it would be nice.

A few years ago at the annual meeting, they announced that they were going to put in a hot tub at the beach house. They never did, and never did say why the plans were changed.
