Someone posted that they had made a reservation at the new Bay Lake Tower through regular Disney Reservations (getting the Buy4/Get3Free package) and they added Dining Plan, tix, etc? Can this be done this way? I thought you needed to rent points or be a DVC member to stay at a DVC resort, yes? Someone, please explain.

Thanks!

BLT will have rooms available from CRO just as all other DVC resorts do. During this initial booking stage, there is no need for "breakage" inventory, so that inventory can become part of CRO. Also, the units not yet declared into DVC inventory are available for CRO. At least, I think that's how it has worked for the other resorts in the past.

Thanks! That clears things up.

How are rates for those units determined? I haven't seen any pricing for the BLT other than DVC points that are needed. For example, the DVC Point Chart indicates you need 139 points for the BLT studio for the month of September '09. What's the "rack rate" for that room and where can you find those rates posted other than calling? Thanks again.

Probably easiest to call CRO, but check on official Disney site disney.com, there is vacation planner there where you may key in your dates, resorts or resort category, etc. and get info on pricing & availability. Don't know if it is updated to include BLT as of yet but it's possible.

Also, this link has excellent info posted by DVCMike (post #2) that explains in detail how DVC units can come to be available to book through CRO
