Re-posting my response from my original Thread "Resale process is so long" in order just thank everyone and for anyone going through the DVC process to see my story in case it may help.

----------

Hi All, it has been a bit since I posted on the DVC sale. I wanted to give the final update in case it may help others. This site was awesome during the resale process. THANK YOU to everyone. I really appreciate it :thanks::worship::yay:

ROFL: Teresadoxie---$97-$21279-200-BWV-Apr-0/16, 400/17, 200/18, 200/19- sent 4/26, passed 5/12

Closing: Received Buyers closing documents 5/25/17. We sent our payment (cashiers check) via USPS with tracking on 5/26/17. 6/12/17 Buyer completed their closing documents. They were on vacation so hold up here. Closing 6/14/17. Email from Attorney's office that the documents were forwarded to the clerk of court.

Deed: Then no communication from the Attorney or The Resale company after closing. So I stalked the Orange County Deed site below, which was provided from this site. Thank you again!!! http://or.occompt.com/recorder/web/ Ours was recorded 6/21/17. Found on this website it takes about 2 weeks for Disney to receive and do their part. I called DVC several days after and they were super nice and confirmed. My husband harassed me to call DVC so I would call several days to see if they received the deed. I believe the last week of June they had it and it was in their pile.

My membership number: July 5th but it was ready the Saturday before when I asked. You will need your contract number to get your membership number from the accounts department. They transfer you to member service to get your pin and another number for the on-line DVC site (forget what they called it). The membership lady stayed on the phone to make sure I was able to ask DVC on-line. Super friendly. Points were there and ready to roll!

Offer in 4/24/17 and Disney Finished 7/1/17 (I didn't know until 7/5/17)

I did take your advice and we were able to book a split stay for our anniversary weekend in August between Saratoga and Polynesian. I snagged another long weekend at BCV for my birthday in January. And then a 1 bedroom at my home resort during the kids Spring Break in March. Lots of Disney trips. AS people on the boards say, what changes when you get DVC - you go more!!! :rolleyes1:flower1:

Welcome Home.

I was going to WDW every other year before we bought DVC. Now we go on average 3x/year. (And we went 5x the first year we owned).

We don't spend less on WDW with DVC. We actually spend much more. But. With accommodations and annual passes front loaded and fixed costs (and no pressing need to trinket ourselves to death), each individual trip costs around an extra $1500 (for transportation and food) instead of $5000. From Texas, sometimes we fly, sometimes we drive, depending on how far in advance we plan and what air tickets costs (for us, Southwest from Austin to MCO is consistently the cheapest route - cheaper than from Houston or Dallas usually).

My DD9 and I left DW and DGS4 at home and we went to WDW for 3 nights this past May. We saw the last Wishes fireworks, the first HEA, and the DVC preview of Pandora on successive nights. Very cool.

Thank you! Yes, I see us spending way more time there too! We started going more frequently in the last 5 years, once a year to every other year at times. Now, I can see more multiple trips. We have previously rented points for this December so that makes 3 trips this year! I agree with your math for our family too. I talked to my DH and we have done most things and enjoy Disney. We can just chill and go fast pace. This August is just me and him so looking forward to the chill visit. We bought our first AP last april so that helps "encourage" us attend more. :)

Now that is a memory the DD9 will have forever! A nice thing to be able to do! I tried that on the DH with DD17 but he was...nope, not without me. Maybe after a year or two of DVC he will change his mind.

We are upper north in NC so its about 10.5 hour drive. With the kids, we drive. With just us, we can get a good deal on flights.

Welcome home!!!! We also find ourselves going to WDW much more often because of DVC, but that's ok for now, we still enjoy it.

It is 6 of us and another on the way, so flying is out of the question for us. We live in Central VA and drive to WDW in 12 hrs. We have been making every other year trips before DVC, we will be making our first DVC trip Dec. 2018. I am hoping our trips to WDW will increase :)

Welcome home! From what I hear you and me will be at Disney way more!!

DVC definitely changed the way I do Disney.

We're still park commandos. But we're much better at it. Going to WDW so much more has made me an expert in how to push the system to my advantage.

Knowledge is power and experience is knowledge.

For example, and this is a freebie: After your 3rd FP when you can book a 4th on your phone, don't take whatever it gives you at first. If you toggle back and forth across times (if it's 6PM, look up FP windows at 6, then 6:30, then 7 then back to 6:30, 6, 6:30, 7......) normally within 5 minutes of playing back and forth, I can score an E ticket. I've scored FEA, 7DMT, SM, Soarin', TT, etc that way. It works, FPs are very fluid in the hour before the window. Ppl who can't make their times cancel.

I know probably a dozen pushes like that. (But I'll keep most of them to myself).

I am going to try that when we go next week!!! Thank you!!! You rock. Knowledge is awesome

Congratulations and welcome home. DH and I have been members since 2009 and have loved every second of it. We do not have children so each trip is an adults only trip and many times we take my parents and his Mom in alternating years. The three of them NEVER, EVER say no to a DVC trip. As we age, it is nice to go in do a FP+ and come out and chill by the pool. DH and I still work fulltime. He hopes to retire in April. So far we have no trips planned for 2018 but we hope to go in the fall.

Best of luck to you as you enjoy your ownership. It really is a special treat!!
