BTMRR Reopening May 3

This is great news. I wish you wouldn't feel the impact of having 2 attractions down for refurb at the same time between this and Buzz. But at MK with its current attendance levels, you do. Plus anything else that might go down for any reason. Glad to have them both back.

We visited twice when both attractions were down (Aug anbd Dec) and honestly can’t say we felt it too much. We wished we could have ridden these but also understand that maintenance/refurbishments are necessary at a place that never closes. Disney does a good job of moving people and absorbing the crowds even when (multiple) major attractions are closed.

Smoother track they said. Well the ride not being smooth is kind of the point of the wildest ride in the wilderness. I really hope they didn't mess this ride up. Its not supposed to be some soft cushy ride

Any new track is going to be smoother though. They did a track replacement at DL a while back and it was the same. It will wear in with use though.

I could not agree more! :sad2: That is one of the main reasons it is one of our families favorite rides. I hope it's not like 7Dwarfs smooth, that is just so eh! LOL

Well, that's amazing news! We are arriving on may 3rd and originally were planning on hitting MK that day. I know no one has a magical Cristal ball, but do you guys think this will heavily impact the overall crowds that day? Or just Frontierland? I'm just trying to find out if it would be better to swap parks and avoid MK on BTMRR reopening day. :-)

As I now have a bad back, I’m very happy the track will be smoother. I rode it at Disneyland after it’s refurb and it was so much more enjoyable for me. Im sick of all the overly bumpy rides (like Kilimanjaro Safaris-that is so unnecessary to be that bumpy!).
I was hoping it would be reopen before our trip which starts May 6 so very excited!

I wonder if it will depend on if they have previews or a soft opening? There weren't reports of crazy crowds for Buzz, but having an entire week of soft opening gave all the bloggers/locals plenty of time to hit it. Now, i get that demand for BTMRR is going to be more than Buzz but there is nothing impressive or cool about a riding something on opening day when everyone who is Anyone has already ridden it days earlier.

Dang it! I'm there from 19th April, but jump on the EBTA DCL cruise on the 2nd May. Chances of a soft opening? I've never ridden it!
