DVC Request or **************?

We have used the ************** on 3 occasions and could not ask for more wonderful service. We have always received very quick and courteous answers to any question or request. Paul the owner is great and they are $1.00 less per point than DVC Request. I would highly recommend them

Thanks for the input.

I like the way ************** does things. I like that you don't have to pay in full until 45 days out, just like if you had a package through Disney. I like that you can put in a request without making a payment, too. My heart is really, really set on POR for a Royal Room. But if there aren't any discounts, It's going to be $400 cheaper to rent points and do Bay Lake Tower. How do you argue with that? :)

By my figures we saved around $1900 on the three trips we took using the **************. The fact that we were able to make a deposit and pay the balance at the 45 day mark made it easier to budget. But the thing that impressed me most is you can tell the owner is a fellow Disney fan and a super nice guy. I never felt like just a number when dealing with him.

I am teetering between the two and will have to make a decision very soon as the 11 month mark for my trip is coming up. Today, we had to get out the spreadsheets and calculator.... :lmao:

I like being able to make payments with one, but the EXACT points needed for the place I really want to stay at for my dates and category are with the other.

I would end up paying more with the other company but can make payments with them and get an upgrade in category, although I don't need or really want it. However, with either option I would be saving quite a bit!!

Decisions, decisions!!

************** just got back to me and told me that they aren't currently working with anyone who's home resort is BLT, AKV, or VWL. So I have to wait for 7 months to try again.

TandLMommy28,

We ran into a similar situation when trying to reserve one of our stays. Paul said that it can sometimes be hard to book at the 11 month mark for a few reasons. Below is an email he sent me explaining the situation. I am sure he would not mind that I share.

"First, at the popular resorts we have to work to find enough owners with home resort status to cover the demand which can be extremely difficult. Second, even when we have a member with Home Resort Status at a particular resort, their points may not work for an 11 month rental because the points may expire prior to the arrival date. And third, we pay the owner 50% of the funds due them at the time that the reservation is made. We withhold the last 50% until the day of arrival as a safeguard. Because of this some members do not want to wait 11 months to receive their final pay-out and opt not to make the reservation."
