I don't know if I'm posting in the right spot so sorry if I am not but I'm thinking about renting points and I know many don't like being a renter but it's cheaper than booking directly through Disney. I was wondering if theme park tickets are included in the renting or are they separate? I know the dining plan is separate and best to be paid when you first rent which I plan on doing. I really wanna try to stay somewhere nice for equivalent to staying at the values with the DXDDP....I'm thinking SSR, OKW or BWV in January

Thank you inadvance!

Tickets are not included when using points for a stay. You can purchase them from any authorized ticket seller.

separate. you are on your own for tickets - most use a discounter like undercovertourist or mapleleaftickets.

at this point, you would have to pay for the dining plan when you book the initial reservation with the DVC owner.

BTW, DVC is a timeshare - so booking 2-3 months in advance is very "last minute" as many owners book 6-7 months in advance or more. it may be difficult to find much for January - even at larger resorts like SSR or OKW.

this thread is getting a little dated but is still a good read for someone considering renting DVC from an individual:

Yes, there's another thread going somewhere where someone said they couldn't find availability for January - depends on when you're going (Marathon weekend will be pretty much totally booked, and probably MLK Day weekend too), but you are cutting it close only 2 or so months out.
