I am hoping to rent points for a 2 Bedroom Villa and I am intersted in the Dinning Plan. The problem is that there will be other people joining us during the week. Can we register the room under just us (2 adults and 3 kids) with the dinning plan and just have my parents stay in the room while they are there?

If so, would my parents just need to buy their length of stay pass sepearate from our room. Any disadvantages? no early entry for them?

Thanks!

I believe if you parents aren't on the original confirmation they will not be eligible for the Dining plan. If you put them on the confirmation then you are liable to pay the cost for every day of the stay. So if you parents don't meet up with you until the 3rd day you would lose $37.99 x 2 days x 2 people...$151.96. Other member are very well versed in the dining plan....which begins April 1st for us.

You are correct in that your parents would not be issued keys, if they are not listed on your reservation. No keys, no EMH and at BCV, depending on the season, (They actually check keys all the time, but during peak times they are stricter about each person having their own key) you need keys to swim at SAB.

If you list them, you will have to pay for the dining plan for them, just as you would a CRO reservation. They could always do a couple of signature meals (2 credits) to make up for the days they were not there but issued credits for.

The good news is that if you reserve a 2 bedroom you won't be exceeding occupancy limits by having your parents join you and should be pretty comfortable.

If you choose not to list them, they would not have keys so they would have to have separate paper tickets also.

It has been stressed that the Dining Plan must be bought for all nights & all people listed on the reservation both @ the Resorts & @ DVC.

Not sure if you can specify that they'd only be staying @ the Villas a few nights of your stay & only purchase the Dining Plan for those dates.

I'd be more concerned about having to purchase it for the nights they're not there.

Good luck.

I speculated on this topic recently in another thread recently. I don't think DVC or Disney has addressed the issue where you have people for part of the week but not all. This is fairly common with DVC members and thus it should be addressed. My guess, and it strictly in a guess, is that you will have to pay for anyone you list at checkin for the entire LOS. But if you go down later and add a couple of people, I suspect you will get the keys and not have to pay for the DP OR the other option is they can get the DP for the remainder of the stay. The main hx we have to judge this issue is the LOS passes and the FoodnFun program and neither match up as well as we'd need them to to help us figure this out. With the LOS passes, it was common to allow members to drop the first and/or last day, will the same be allowed with the DP. The DP has a min of 3 days, what if a DVC member is staying only 2?
