DVC rental reservation & park/dining reservation question?

The person renting has a valid AP is listed as a guest on the owner's DVC reservation and I can't see the reservation online.

What is the best way to get the park reservations using my AP on the rental reservation?

Is it possible to have that person link the plans together so that you can see it on your MDE?

I take it that you are the renter?

Were you given a confirmation number for the reservation? If so, did you try to link it in MDE?

That is what I was curious about. Can you explain to me how another owner would do this?

Yes. I am also a DVC member.

The reservation and ticket should be linked to MDE for the renter.

Yes. He sent me a copy of his DVC reservation letter with me as listed as a guest. Usually, I take a copy when I check-into the resort.

I was curious about that. I can't see the reservation online under my account.

But with the new park reservation system and the new 60-day dining reservation policy, I thought I would find out if I could make reservations like I did yesterday with my Pop Century resort reservation.

I tried calling DVC member services and they said they could not access another member's account. That makes since.

I gave the owner my DVC member number and my annual pass number last night.

He was going to try and make those reservations for me today.

Question?

How does he link his account reservation so it shows up on my account? Or maybe it can't show up online.

Will my new rental park reservations show up on my online account?

Can someone describe the actual process?

I must sound so dumb.

The 60 day dining is not in effect for anything but DS right now. They have not opened up any booking for resorts except for stays prior to July 11th.

And no one can book places in the parks.

Yes, that is correct.

My reservation is not until December and the 60-day dining reservation is new. I was just lumping the park reservation and 60-day dining reservation together.

I just want to know the process and how and if it can be done.

And if I will be able to see it on my MDE account.

Thank you.

No. You don’t sound dumb at all.

Correct me if I’m wrong. It sounds like the owner added you as a guest to his/her reservation instead of calling Member Services to change the lead name on the reservation to you. And then they sent the confirmation to you, showing that you are on the reservation.

If that’s the case, there are two possible fixes. The owner should contact Member Services and have their name removed from the reservation and replaced with yours. Once your name is in place as the lead name, you should be able to link the reservation in MDE.

Or, they can add you as a Friend in their MDE, send you a Friend invitation and then link your name to the reservation in their MDE.

Personally, if I were the renter, I would prefer the first option unless the owner is a close friend or relative. If their name is on the reservation, they will be able to see the room number in their own MDE and will have access to the room using their MagicBand.

Thank you. I just feel like I should be able to figure this out.

Yes, he did.

Thank you. I didn't know he could do that.

Thank you. I need to get his date of birth.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me.

Make sure the owner has your full name as it appears on your government issued ID, your address, your phone number and your email that you used for MDE before the owner calls, especially if wait time is long. Member Services would need all this info. to process the Lead Guest change. In normal times when Online Chat is available, the Chat agent can process this change. Then there is also the email option if owner is reluctant to call Member Services due to long hold times. I think you should insist that you be the lead guest on the reservation if the owner does not plan to be staying in the room.

When is the reservation? The owner can also send an email to Member Services to remove his name and have your name as the lead guest.

Curious as to how long it normally takes to have Member Services to respond to emails right now? We rented a confirmed reservation and have been waiting 4 days for the reservation to be transferred to us. I know the wait times on the phone have been very long and the member hasn't been willing to wait on hold.

It took almost 3 weeks for Member Services to change the lead name when I emailed the request. I called to change a different reservation and was on hold about 30 minutes. I had it done less that 15 minutes later.

You could be in for a long wait.

To add, I am at almost 10 days for an email sent for a similar reason....so right now, emails are definitely not beIng answered in the normal timely fashion.

You can also send him a request via the reservation number. In the "add a friend" screen you can select "reservation". You will need the reservation number (which you have) and the last name of the primary guest (which I assume is your friend, unless it was originally made for a third party). If those match, MDE will show you every person on the reservation and you select which guests to send an invitation to. If it was originally made for a third person and you don't know that name, then you are back to DOB.

I called member services yesterday. wait time 45 minutes. But, they added my adult daughter to my reservation on My Disney Experience (I could not add her and kept getting error even though she was on my reservation on DVC site), removed my SIL from my March reservation and put him back on the other room (I had to put him in my room to make park reservation because again I was doing something wrong in MDE), and the CM also aggravated me when she said my Gold AP still expires December 18, 2019-no extension. I only have renewal certificate since i could not go in May or June and my May reservation was canceled. I just thanked her for the other help (she actually had to contact someone else to make the changes) and I will go to guest services and get resolution to my Gold AP. Because either they will give me the extension OR I will just insist my pass date starts the day I activate it NOT the date I renewed.

I called @ 2pm central time. total call 1hr 22 minutes including wait time.

So she was on the reservation but you couldn't add her in MDE? I did finally get our reservation number from the owners and when I try to link the reservation in MDE I get 'There was an issue assigning one or more Guests to this reservation.' Is that the error that was happening? I'm just not sure if I have to call Disney then since it's my MDE account giving the error or if I have to have the DVC owner call. We've rented previously and were able to link the reservation without issue in MDE. I'm going to give it an hour or so and try again!

I am getting that error, but it let me still book park reservations for that guest during resort period and let me order her a magic band,

I do not know why..it did online check in too. I’d call MDE because it must have to do with that.

Since everything I needed to include her in has worked, I am not worried.

I tried it on the MDE app and it worked. Stupid system!
