DVC Rental Question

Going to start by adding that I know this is probably a long shot, but going to ask anyway.
My grandma just passed away, and my sister has been feeling really depressed. Her birthday is in December, and I wanted to surprise her with a WDW trip in a nice resort as a birthday celebration/ cheer up trip. At this point, it seems too late to do a DVC rental. I was really hoping to do this, as otherwise deluxe is far out of my budget.
Any tips or recommendations for if there is anyway to still rent DVC points this late in the game?

If you go on any of the main DVC rental sites, they have "confirmed" reservations listed...maybe one of those will work for the dates you're looking for?
