Hi All,

If I refer someone to purchase a DVC, do I get anything for the referral? I know at one time you used to get money off your annual maintnenance/dues.

thanks - Brian

It depends on what state you live in. Some allow it, others don't. I'm not sure about Rhode Island. It is allowed in New York so I took 200 Disney dollars for my referral.

Maybe?..

Our guide told us that because we were MN residents, we could not be "reimbursed" for referrals, citing it was a MN state law. He went on with a story about another guide that lost his job for sending out "little thank yous" to members who lived in another state with similar laws. Don't recall what the "gifts" were, but they were not anything extravigant.. for some reason a dinner voucher or fast passes stick in my mind..

Prior to purchase, we were chatting with a DVCer in MGM about the pros/cons of membership. She was from GA and said that she would get a $50 referral fee if we would be kind enough to use their name.. couldn't fool our guide tho..:p

I would think a quick call to MS would provide the answer, any guide should have that info handy.
