DVC Re-Opens Sales For Boardwalk

The "members only" section of the official Disney Vacation Club web site indicates (if I'm reading it correctly) that NEW points are for sale at Boardwalk. Looks like the recent renovations enabled DVC to create more space. (Please correct me if I am wrong!)

DVC members get first crack at these points through May 31st. After that date the points will be sold to the general public. They have a "magical beginnings" offering for this sale, as well as with points still available at Beach Club.

Anyone doing an add-on?

Thanks JOC. I just saw it for the first time at the DVC website today, and it is the first thing listed on the "members only" section, so I thought it was new today since this is the first time I saw it. Thanks again!

Talked to our guide today. Can't decide - 50 more would be nice so we can always stay 7 days in a 2 bdrm. Think with 320 there and 232 at OKW we'd finally have enough? NAH!

How/where did they "create" new space at?

The new space will come from the DVC sales center that has been there for the last few years. The new sales center will later move to Saratoga Springs when it opens (or probably before it actually opens).

My guide called me today to give me an update on points remaining for my March use year. She said they had 12,000 points last week and are now down to 4,000. If that's the case, points for March use year could be gone by the end of the month. I guess I'd better make up my mind...quickly!

So, there will now be first floor BoardWalk View villas?

Not necessarily. The DVC Sales Office has a front section on the walk but all the actual model rooms are in the back part of the office, facing Luna Park. Likely, the back portion will all become rooms and the front a store.

For some reason, I think we toured a 2BR villa that faced the lake a couple years ago? Or, am I just mistaken?

The Boardwalk model faced the lake. The VWL & BCV models faced the pool.

I am at the Boardwalk now and they are still working out of the DVC offices on the Boardwalk. They will eventually be moving to SS but for now they are still here. The entrance has been through the entrance to Luna Pool then the right entrance to the first floor rooms, our room is 1048 and they have been passing past our room starting at 8 am and going to they close at 5pm. They are still renovating the front boardwalk side first floor part of the outside of the DVC offices so that is why you have to enter from the rooms side. Also if you stand on the boardwalk and look in some of the rooms you can see the living room part of the 1bdrm. So I do believe there will be first floor bw view.

Our guide was so good that he called us on the 19th about the points going on sale. We thought we'd missed out because it was Easter weekend and vacation week and we didn't get back to him for a week.....but we finally made a decision about where to add on and the paperwork arrived today. Yippee.

My birthday is tomorrow so this is my birthday, mother's day and 20th anniversary present. Not bad?????

We've more than doubled our points and I don't know where to start planning. I think we're going to surprise my graduating 8th grader with a trip in July.....if we can find a room!
