I love VWL!!!!!!!!! FH loves the inside of AKV but we're not super pleased with the location. We both know we want a bite of BLT if and when it ever happens.

Would we be wise to purchase a 50 point contract resale of VWL when one that's not stripped with the use year (December to March) that we are looking for strolls by?

Or should we buy the 100 point incentive?

Or do neither and wait for BLT?

My DVC savings is now at 4500.

It depneds on where you want your 11 month booking window to be. It sounds to me like you aren't too into AKV, so no use getting the booking advantage there. Waiting for a 50 point VWL to "stroll by" could take forever too, but it sounds like that's what you really want. Of course, waiting and speculating about BLT is always a great DIS board pastime, but it COULD end up costing a LOT more both in points and money so it's an unknown entity at this point. If you are eager to get into the system, I'd probably go the 100 point route unless AKV is not a place you ever see yourself staying.

if you're heart is set on VWL, i'd call TTS and get on their email list and let them know what you're looking for. maybe check out the ebay listings and other resale sites for VWL contracts as well...

if you're more flexible, i'd agree with diane.

Hi all,
We're new to the DVC lingo - waiting on our contract as I type! - can someone tell me what BLT is?
thanks!

I know, getting a small contract that I can afford now would also mean that I could buy a smaller contract from Disney for either AKV or BLT or wherever... And with no closing costs... I have a while to wait for my contract to stroll by, I almost found it, it was just stripped!

I am going to keep an eye on VWL resales for a while. If nothing comes up by mid October, I am going to have to be flexible and buy AKV

Don't forget that the current promo for AKV (which is very good IMHO) is only good thru Sept 20th. Sept is the year-end for DVC so they are really pushing hard to get the numbers up. There is no gurantee what promos will be available next - they may be better or they may be worse.

If you really have your heart set on VWL, then I would wait for that perfect resale for you. If not, I would consider the current offer at AKV.

just be aware that many of the smaller contracts never hit the website for TTS and are scooped up when they are mentioned in the email. not sure about some of the other DVC resellers but it's likely the case for the better resale contracts...

If you are willing to stretch your budget GMAC has an 80pt (no posted details on point status) asking a little more than $80/pt jut be aware that there settlement costs are higher and many people push part of this off on the seller.

http://www.reid4florida.com/disney_hot_buys.htm I do not know much about this realtor so due diligence is important but they have a couple of small VWL contracts at reasonable asking prices if the use year is right for you

There are also a couple of loaded below ROFR 150 pt VWL listed if anyone is interested.

I started looking for 50-100 points OKW but ended up buying 150 OKW since the price was so good ($68/pt with almost full points and the additional points reduced the per point cost of closing).
