Last time we went to Epcot we had dinner at Rose & Crown, I noticed they had "DVC member" next to our name on the Printout sheet at the hosts stand. When I asked if we could sit outside, he was like, of course, you are sitting outside. Was I getting preferential treatment as a dvc member. or otherwise why do they make note of it?

I think the notation might be more for the places that give DVC discounts for meals; probably just easier to have it print out on all the PS's than target just what places are currently doing discounts.
The 'of course you're sitting outside' might be because I don't think *ANYONE* ever asks to sit inside at Rose and Crown!

I'm not so sure. I haven't used MS in awhile for PS but when I did I almost always ended up with an excellent table without making any request. Front row at the luau (several times), fantastic window at the Poly breakfast, etc. During Christmas Week I called Disney Dining for a dinner reservation for 6 people at the Castle within a few hours expecting to get a "no way" and instead got a "come on over". It's not written or expressed anywhere but I think we may get an edge. Of course, this same edge may apply to other WDW resort guests as well.

I was wondering the same thing. I used Member Services to reserve a table at the California Grill. When I got to the restaraunt I too noticed the DVC notatation next to my name. They sat us at THE BEST table in the place, next to the window overlooking the MK. It was then I started wondering if there was some connection between DVC and good tables.

Pam,
You can call MS to make PS seating ressies?? I didn't know MS did this. I assume the same 120/90 day rules apply? Thanks!

Lisa

Lisa, I haven't used them in awhile but it used to be that you just tell them what you want and they make the arrangements when the booking window opens up. (You may want to re-confirm that everything is correct. I stopped using them when there was a foul-up on my parent's 50th Anniversary at V&A. It worked out in the end.)

I can't imagine any reason why DVC people would be given preferred treatment at restaurants. What would the restaurants get out of it? They don't care about us anymore than any other guest.

Tom

I called Disney GS and DVC MS, both CMs do not know of any preferential treatments for DVC members. They note as much information about you as possible. I don't know for what purposes, but it doesn't entail preferential treatment. You only get extras like a cake if it is your birthday.
